[FIXED] Reading books not counting for Knowledge Aspiration (non-ROM)
Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.58.63.1010
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Discover University, Get Together, Cats And Dogs, Island Living, Get Famous, Seasons, City Living Get To Work, Realm Of Magic, Stranger ville, Jungle Adventure, Parenthood, Vampires, Spa Day, Outdoor Retreat, My First Pet Stuff, Laundry Day, Toddler Stuff, Kid Stuff, Movie Hangout Stuff, Vintage Glamour Stuff, Spooky Stuff, Cool Kitchen Stuff.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Give your Sim the Nerd Brain or Renassiance Sim Aspiration and get them to read a book for the read 3 books part of the aspiration.
What happens when the bug occurs? The Sim finishes the book and puts it away but the amount of books read for the aspiration stays at 0 no matter how many different books you try or how many times you get them to read the book.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see 1/3 pop up on the aspiration tracker dohicky.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Discover University Patch, also installed Discover University, Spa Day and My First Pet Stuff.
Basically as above. No matter what sim I use or what books I read books just do not count towards completing knowledge aspirations. It just doesn't register I've read them which is frustrating as my sims for my Discover University gameplay are obviously quite knowledge focused at the moment.
I've only done a preliminary test in one save, but in that one save I had a new sim learn the research and debate skill and get to level 2, which was where the issue seemed to occur previously. She then went on to read two more books (the first book she read was the research and debate skill book and it counted, as it had before) and both books counted towards the 'read three books' goal of the knowledge aspiration so I'm thinking this may also be fixed with the 12/12/19 Game Update (my game version is now PC: 1.59.73.1020 ).
I'll have to see if I have any sims that were having this issue before that I can see if it works for them, vs with new sims, it's possible I already cheated their aspiration progress so they could continue since they had read a lot of books.
Best regards,
Jennifer
