[FIXED] Relationship list gets out of order

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.67.45.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get to Work, City Living, Seasons, Get Famous, Island Living, University, Outdoor Retreat, Spa Day, Parenthood, Jungle Adventure, Strangerville, Realm of Magic, Perfect Patio Stuff, Cool Kitchen Stuff, Romantic Garden Stuff, Kids Room Stuff, Backyard Stuff, Fitness Stuff, Ghoulish Guitar, Holiday Celebration Pack.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Start with a fresh new game, no CC loaded. No Mods loaded. Play the game for several days in Sim time and meet new people every day. After about 5 days while meeting new people the bug will happen. When I have started the new game in Winter the bug usually happens the day after the Winter Holiday.
What happens when the bug occurs? Within the game there is a Relationship tab that shows all of the other Sims that your active Sim knows and the traits that are known. Normally the Sim that is being interacted with will show up as the top left Sim in the tab. At some point during game play the Sim that the Active Sim is talking to will suddenly be at the bottom of the list. Any new Sims or formally talked to sims will go to after that sim position as if the new interacting sim position on the list is lower down. Depending on the Active Sim the location varies. If I number the boxes in the Tab as top left is #1 and top right is #4, then the next row is #5-8 and so on. With one active Sim the interacting Sim shows up in box 23, with another active Sim is in box 60, and with other active Sims show up in other boxes. The position is always consistent with the particular active Sim.
What do you expect to see? The Sim that the active Sim is talking to should be in the upper left box of the relationship tab.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. upgrade to 1.67.45.1020 but didn't notice until a week after the upgrade

This has been a frustration search for what is happening. It took me a couple weeks to decide that it is the game software doing it and not Mods or CC. If you need my Saved games I can provide them but it is easy to duplicate without my saves. Just play the game for a few days and watch the Relationship List.

Edit By Crinrict: Added Tag to Title

    • Most recently interacted with Sim will appear at the beginning of the Relationship panel.

    Fixed in Patch 1.110.265/2.01

I never have had to do it to every Sim. Every time I've had to do it, upon speaking to the "Stuck" sim in the #1 spot they never went all the way to the lower right of the relationship panel. Can't recall where they do go exactly, but I want to say.... 3 or 4 rows down? So unless your #1 gets bumped all the way to the bottom of your relationship panel, you won't have to do every one of your relationships. You just need to repeat it until they work their way back into the #1 spot. If the bug pops up again I'll make sure and come back and post exactly how many rows down the #1 stuck sims gets moved down to. Though I'm not sure if it's a set amount.

OK, had the bug pop up again. Things are a lil different now than they were in the past because now I have a household with more than one Sim in it. I usually play single Sim households but have had the bug pop up before in the past with multi-sim households but that was before I had figured out my work around. What I noticed this time around is that when the bug pops up, it occurs to every Sim in game- even unplayed households. When I noticed the bug popped up, I went and checked if the other Sim in my household had it too and they did. I then went and checked with another played household and then an unplayed one. Sure enough, everyone had it. I then started up my "fix" with a single Sim in the household I was playing. This time when I tried my "fix", the Sim in the locked #1 position jumped to row #16 in the panel, quite a ways down my list and further down than when I play with a single Sim. This time when I talked to the Sims progressively moving up in my list, I noticed the initial locked #1 position Sim wasn't moving much. It moved from row #16 up to row #14 then stayed there. I kept up with the invite over and talk to operation and after a while noticed a Sim I had already talked to during it was moving back to the #1 position. When that Sim worked its way back to the upper right #1 position a second time, the bug cleared up.

When I checked the other Sim on this household, their relationship panel is still bugged and locked ☹️ I may at some point check and see if the "Fix" works on them too but after calling up and inviting Sims over for a solid 10-15 minutes or so I'm not really feeling like doing it again anytime time soon. Perhaps after a while it will fix itself for them and the other Sims in the world like it has before in the past for me. It's a really weird bug. No idea what starts it but when I noticed the bug popping up again, there were two events that occurred before the bug popped up. I may have missed exactly when it popped up. I haven't been checking the relationship panel every time my Active Sim talked to someone. Now these events might be total coincidence and not related in any way to the actual bug starting up, but they were two possibilities I noticed before the bug showed up again. 1) I was thinking maybe the number of Sims in your relationship panel triggers it when you get "too many" Sims in your Relationship Panel. When I noticed the bug I checked to see how many Sims were in my Active Sim relationship panel. It was 79, one less than the 80 Maximum Sims I had set in the Manage Households in the manage World Screen. I went and bumped the Maximum Sim Count to 200 then went back to the household and the bug was still there. I don't think the Maximum Sim Count triggers or affects the bug. At the least bumping the Count up doesn't fix it if it does initiate the bug. 2) I had a related family have kids right before I noticed the bug popping up. Again, might be total coincidence but those were the only two things that stood out from day-to-day gameplay I noticed before the bug popped up again.

That's it for now. Might message back if the Relationship Panel fixes itself for the rest of the Sims in the world. I might try and fix the Relationships for the second Sim in my Active Household and see if that affects anything. This bug is a weird one. I just wish I knew what causes it.

  • Tried to search this forum to see if anyone else have this issue, but as you all know, the search function here don't work very well.
Anyway, my laptop have been at the doctor for a couple of weeks, so I assume this is since the last patch or the latest Kits.

The relationship panel used to show the sims you last interacted with first, now it doesn't.
It only show sims I've had the briefest of interactions with while my friends and co-workers are hidden far down in the list.
I know I can sort them with choosing different tabs, but that is growing old really fast when playing, since your preference don't stick.

Is it just me this have happened to so I should start searching for a mod conflict?

@crinrict Thanks. Exactly the problem I'm having, So frustrating, so I hope this won't be another bug EA will ignore. At this point, I use MCC to delete relationships, so they don't clutter up the panel so I can find the important ones.

It appears the borked relationship panel has reared its head again. I've had the issue since the most recent patch. (All packs; no mods; happens 100% of the time)
