[FIXED] Townies walking by that stop to chat always use hostile greeting
Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? n/a
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Cats and Dogs, Get To Work, Get Together, City Living, Outdoor Retreat, Spa Day, Parenthood, Dine Out, Fitness Stuff, Movie Hangout Stuff, Perfect Patio Stuff, Luxury Party Stuff, Spooky Stuff, Toddler Stuff, Vintage Glamour Stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Observe townies that are walking by in the open neighbourhood and wait to see if two stop to chat and greet each other.
What happens when the bug occurs? The greeting they use is always a hostile confrontational stance, that does not respect the sims' current mood or relationship status with the other sim.
What do you expect to see? The choice of greeting animation they use should reflect their emotional state at the time or the relationship level with the other person.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
I'm not sure when it started happening, but I've noticed now that every time a pair of NPC townies greet each other on the street while walking by, they use a hostile animation.
In the case of these two, they are both strangers to each other with no relationship bar, so they shouldn't greet each other in an angry/hostile stance. Moira Fyres is in a confident mood at the time and the teenager is in a neutral fine mood.
I see this with all sims greeting each other on the street, regardless of their mood or relationship level with each other. I'm pretty sure this hasn't always been the case though, or it wouldn't be so noticeable to me right now. Maybe since the November 2017 Cats and Dogs patch?
- Townie Sims are no longer glaring at each other as they pass by on the streets.
Fixed in Patch 1.48.90 .. at least I believe this is what this patch note is referring to
