I see... I don't have access to either of those, but maybe I can make use of Apple's return policy and get one to test it. 🤔
I used to own an Intel MacBook Pro a few years ago but I don't remember the experience being great either.
Have you played the game on a Windows machine by any chance? I used to primarily play on Windows until I recently switched to a Mac and there is a noticeable difference (for me at least) in how the click and drag controls work.

Yep, my iMac is Boot Camped and has the game installed. I use the trackpad there too and can’t tell the difference in CAS. It was a weird issue before too because it didn’t affect every Mac user. There must be a common link but we never figured out what it was although a patch did seem to fix it. Maybe it was a fix for something else that improved the performance? Or maybe it coincided with a macOS update?
