Broken computer has no repair interaction available

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
What is your current game version number? 1.96.397.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? EP: High School Years, Snowy Escape, Eco Lifestyle, Discover University, Get Famous, Seasons, Cats and Dogs, City Living, Get Together, Get To Work GP: My Wedding Stories, Dream Home Decorator, Realm of Magic, Strangerville, Jungle Adventure, Parenthood, Vampires, Dine Out, Spa Day, Outdoor Retreat SP: Paranormal, Tiny Living, Toddler, Vintage Glamour, Backyard, Perfect Patio
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Unknown at this time.
What happens when the bug occurs? A computer will break, but the repair interaction will not be available. The computer can be replaced. Attempting to hire the repair service results in the repairman saying 'looks like you don't need my services today' and leaving. However, a spellcaster who knows the Repairio spell can cast it on the computer, immediately repairing it.
What do you expect to see? When a computer breaks, the Repair interaction should be available, and hiring a repair service should also fix the computer.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Tried to reproduce a bug where the repair interaction would be completely unavailable.

I started a new save without any mods at all. Had a Sim use a computer in the Landgraab IX apartment in San Myshuno, as this is where I've seen the bug happen recently. So for example, I would have them research the guitar then practice writing.

It took a while for the computer to break. But, I have a save about a few game hours before it would break.

When it broke, I saw that the repair interaction was available.

Exited without saving the game.

Then I tested with my saved game and adding back in mods that I thought might be the problem.

Again, when the computer broke, the repair interaction was available.

What I can say from this test is that the repair interaction being unavailable is something which happens rarely and/or under very specific circumstances.

    It's the Strangerville $999 laptop computer, so, I don't think it's unbreakable..

    My computer broke, and when I tried to have my sims repair it, the “repair”action won’t pop up. This would be my ultimate goal, to have my sun repair it. But I have also tried to hire the repair service. They show up, say the house doesn’t need their assistance and leave. I’ve tried moving the desk away from the wall to repair it and I have also tried moving the desk outside for the repair service to fix it. There doesn’t seem to be a way to get a functional computer other than buying a new computer.

    I play on PS4. I don’t have any mods, and the only cheat I have ever used is the “money 100000” cheat in other save files. The current save file I’m using doesn’t have cheats activated.

    I’ve also tried clearing my system cache. I really don’t want to clear the sims 4 cache because I don’t want to pay a subscription fee or store my data on a usb. 

    Is there anything I can do?

    Here are the packs I have: Dream House Decorator, Get to Work, Discover University, Get Famous, Cats & Dogs, For Rent, Get Together, Horse Ranch, Realm of Magic, Jungle Adventure, Vampires, Outdoor Retreat, Toddler, Bowling Night, Romantic Garden, and Spooky.

    The Sims 4 version I have is 1.86, and the PS4 software version I have is 11.02

    @releggtable Which computer are you using ? Did you upgrade the computer to non-breakable and it broke anyways ?

    My computer isn’t unbreakable. It’s the 4,000 simoleon computer without any upgrades

    When my sims' computers break, I don't have the option to repair them. If I put in a call for a repair man, they show up and say there's nothing to repair and then leave.

    I have no mods or CC. I have tried repairing the game on the EA app and clearing files as recommended on this forum.

    @crinrict It has happened with the Standard Portable Computer and Respecterion Mid-Range Desktop, which I believe are both breakable.
