Digital sketchpad vanishes after use

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Buy a digital sketchpad and have the sim use it. Once they are done, it vanishes.
What happens when the bug occurs? My sim is a freelance artist and uses the sketchpad once then it disappears!!! I've searched all over the lot, it's not in any other Sims inventory, no one has been in the house to steal it and she hasn't been out to leave it anywhere. This is the second time its happened and she can't afford to keep buying new ones! They are $750 simoleons! This is apparently a known issue that was supposed to be fixed 3 years ago but it is still happening.
What do you expect to see? The sim should place the sketchpad down on a surface when their task is complete.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

I tried to upload a video but the file was too large. It showed how the sketchpad vanished after the task was completed twice and showed me buying it twice. 

If no one has answered this I just figured it out. It will be in your sims inventory 

Hello! I know this question was years ago, but I had the same problem with Sims 4 in steam deck. But I found all the dissappearing digitalistic sketchpad! They were in my wall bookshelf. So if you have a book holder or shelf, I'd try to "open" it and check there!
