@7hockeyI know excactly how you feel I've been right where you are. It frustrates me it's still a problem when Microsoft has known about it all this time.
So, they got me to clear the affected saves (I had 3 but they kept deleting themselves anyway) and do a console reset and reinstall my game. I went through this with them on a couple of occasions with error codes. I had to keep all the information I needed for my console so I didn't forget to reinstall everything and note passwords etc, before doing that.
For a second opinion you could try Xbox Support yourself as well and try Live Chat and get a Support Advisor to work with you as well. I had the same advice from more than one person and highly recommended their help even though they couldn't fix it.
I had to clear everything and start all over again also checking I had no affected lots in my Library, so no lots with photos. Xbox support kept phoning me back until it was all reinstalled and I loaded up my fresh game.
So when I was back in my game it was brand new and I was told not to repeat the triggering action. I had 2 triggers, one was photos and one was downloading from the Gallery. So I've learned to manage without those functions and still get so much out of the game itself. It's still my favourite game. The advice they gave me has carried on working.
You could also take an image of the error code and we can file a proper Bug Report for this. We have bug reports open for specific codes. In some cases the team can look at them and you could just wait to see if it can be addressed. In my case I just followed Microsoft advice, just having that reassuring help on the phone from them was great. If you do ask for their help, ask for a Sims player as I was lucky to get one myself. It made a big difference.
So there's still a few options there for you to think about.
