i had the same problem i had 2 fully grown plants and i couldn’t talk to them there wasn’t even the option. what worked for me was just buying a new seed pack and planting one of the seeds in a pot and then the option showed up. makes no sense but hopefully it helps someone!
Thank you to the people who suggested to buy a new planter / pot and a new pack of seeds.
Doing so seemed to fix the issue temporarily.
