I'm seeing exactly the same issue. This is only a problem when the "off the grid" lot challenge is active - I can work around it by turning the challenge off, adopting the pet, and then turning the challenge back on (all without changing/resetting the game). I have over 200 surplus energy stored and all other electricals work so it is not down to not having sufficient electricity to run the phone. I can make the selection in the phone menu but it then disappears from my sim's queue without them doing anything. I don't know if a particular patch caused this for me as I have not played an off the grid scenario before where I have also tried to adopt a pet. This is a new save file though.I have all EPs, all GPs except Star Wars and most of the SPs. I also use MCCC mod but no others.

HI @kim7878 Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199 You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup. After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin. Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back. Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually) Tray Folder Screenshots/Videos/Custom music Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it) Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up .... Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work) The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

@runotytto Thanks for that detail.I can duplicate it as well off grid.

@crinrict There seems to be a larger issue where services tied to the cell phone are not recognizing stored electricity reserves on a lot with the off-the-grid trait/challenge. Could we merge the issue I reported Cannot Hire a Service via Object on Off-the-Grid while Power available - Answer HQ with this one since it seems to be a similar symptom of the larger issue at hand? The workaround for my reported issue is the same as what is proposed in this one: removing the lot challenge temporarily. And it does work.

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.

I am having the exact same issue since I got eco lifestyle. I’ve never had any mods or cc. I have all packs. I’m on a pc. I have the most recent update that was released June 10th. I hope this gets fixed soon. Along with the other bugs I’ve reported due to eco lifestyle.

@Lyndie5708 What happens exactly in your game when you try ? Is it just that save or does it also happen if you try a fresh one for testing purposes ?

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? By going to to adopt a dog/cat and clicking on it.
What happens when the bug occurs? The pet selection doesn't pop up and my sim just puts the phone away.
What do you expect to see? The pet selection screen to pop up.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Use cell phone to adopt a cat or dog. But the sim doesn’t end up adopting & just stops.
What happens when the bug occurs? I use the cell phone to adopt a dog or cat, the sim gets on the phone but no adoption menu pops up and the sim just puts the phone away & the action is ended. I am playing on an “off-the-grid” lot in Sulani with generators & solar panels powering electricity for my lot.
What do you expect to see? Be able to adopt a pet.
