For anyone experiencing this issue, can you install the latest Intel driver and see if the issue still occurs?

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? If you ran the Sims 4, went to any lot, ventured to buy mode, and then selected any item from the Dream Home Decorator Game Pack.
What happens when the bug occurs? You can hover over the item but if you click it the game then just freezes and closes out. Only the items from the Dream Home Decorator Game Pack.
What do you expect to see? I expect to go into buy mode and select an item from the Dream Home Decorator game pack and have it snap to the mouse pointer hand as if grabbed and then I should be able to place it on the lot.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
This is just a screen shot showing one of the items that would crash the game if I clicked it's thumbnail.
Thank you so much but I believe my problem is resolved. Another post guided me towards putting -dx11 in the advanced launch options for the game and now its all working. I think you even suggested it in that post. Thank you. I can't seem to find it now.
