[OPEN] [PS5] Graphics lowered after the Adjusting Graphics Screen Appears

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PlayStation 5
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.49
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All execpt Bust the Dust, Courtyard Oasis, Fashion Street, MFP, and Journey to Batuu.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I'm not sure. I seem to be the only one this is happening to after googling and posting on reddit.
What happens when the bug occurs? After I exit build mode I sometimes get a message saying my graphics are being adjusted and then some obects become low res.
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to play normally. We can't even chage graphics settings on console so this shouldnt be happening.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Happening to me also, I’m on the ps5, it does nothing to improve my graphics, it’s super annoying and every time it happens I hold my breath wondering if I’m going to crash

@SimGuruRitzy I notice that this has happened specifically for me after I downloaded the Discover University pack but even moreso after the Infant update. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything; being connected via wifi and hard wired to not being connected at all; and it’s just really bad. Sometimes the graphics show up dark like the items are black, sometimes the Sims are two toned and most of the game running time I am experiencing intermittent “smooth play” with static every few seconds or so.

No particular lot, it’s just the full experience of the game in general.

I play on Xbox One and have: city living, get to work, get famous, dine out, spa, jungle, pets, vintage glamour, and discover uni.

@SimGuruRitzy I also now have the game on an SSD hoping that would make it better. But I have more than enough space on the drive (Sims and packs the only thing there) and console where game was originally.

@SimGuruRitzy Last little bit, my apologies. So one thing I notice is that having the game on SSD, it collects data via cloud and on the drive. After each save more data is collected. Is there a way to “clear the cache” on console without deleting my saved games? I always delete the data on the drive but never on the cloud bc I am afraid it will delete me current game files.

I'm on PS4 and this happens to me constantly. At one point it was happening at least once an hour. It's obnoxious, and it interrupts me doing anything and everything, sometimes even in live mode, and it takes a solid 2-5 minutes to "adjust" the graphics down. For no good or necessary reason. Make it stop.

If I don't get this message/action, my game crashes coming out of build mode or when trying to travel. If I want to travel or do anything to change something in my Sim's house, I have to try and trigger this action or my game will crash 100% of the time. I changed my game to Performance Mode so my game doesn't drag like I'm pulling a car with a rope. Performance Mode has at least helped solve this (for the most part... it happens much much less), but the crashing if I don't get the adjusting graphics message? Constant. Makes it hard at the moment. I'm trying to get all the collections, which requires a lot of travel. So frustrating. I realize I said something about it already, but it has just happened to me 4 different times and I have only been playing for an hour and a half. Thought I might want to scream into the void of Answers HQ. It does help me feel a little bit better.

@chauncy913 This has been happening since around the time of Cottage Living. It happens mostly on my main save that I've had since console release. I can no longer play that family and that bothers me and makes me not want to play. I shouldn't have to keep starting new families just so I can play. It has also started on my building save so I had to create another for building. This shouldn't even be an issue on newer consoles
