When I fly to my restaurant, then come back home the Butler has changed, kind of got use to the one we have, so I have to fire the new one to get old one back, this does not happen during any other event such as holidays etc, I just want my Butler to stay consistent, an option to keep the employees you like should be available, obviously offer a long-term contract or something?What happens when the bug occurs? I am also having issues where my butler changes to a different butler each time I leave the house. This occurs anytime I load onto another lot. I really noticed it since playing my actress in Get famous bc she leaves the house and loads onto the career lot, and is leaving the house lit constantly. But this bug has been happening since well before GF patch.I do not know about about the nanny issue. Whenever I hire a nanny it’s usually just for a short span of time and I suppose I never expected that it should be the same nanny every time. The butler bug is really frustrating however I as I like to have customized my butlers to go with the storyline of the household. The only mod I use is MC Command Center, and always the most recent versions.

I also experience the same issue. Whenever I leave the lot, my Butler is different. I have to fire the new one and then re-hire to get the old one back. I keep thinking the patch updates would fix it but so far nothing.

I have had something similar happen with two different saves. 1. Vlad hired a butler to clean up after all his cats. After a few sim days, when I (Vlad) returned home from another lot the butler had changed from a man to a woman. The first sim was still alive and well, I checked. First I fired her and hired a new one. Got my original butler, but he got replaced by the same woman a sim week later. This time I ignored the change and continued to play. One day when returning home the man was back. This went on a few times before I quit using the butler.If I refind this save I will send it to you2. Judith Ward in her original home in Del Sol Valley. First got an elderly man, and later some woman came instead. the man was not dead. This time around it took much longer (in sim time) before the man suddenly showed up again one day.Maybe he came sooner, I wouldn't know because these butlers would stand in the "butler standby" pose all the way down the "driveway" and almost by the Bailey-Moon household. I have since this fired the butler(s) and played many other households in this save, would it still be of use for you @SimGuruIcarus?

This REALLY NEEDS Addressed! This same issue has been ongoing since 2017.It's interesting to see what SimGuruNick says about this after examining a player's save file:"We were indeed able to narrow down reproduction steps on this one, it's specific to rotational gameplay. Playing rotationally doesn't preserve butler assignment apparently. I want to add that it is not only when playing rotational. I have played with a sim for many sims-seasons and even when it does not always happen, it is often enough to be annoying. And like I say, it happens also even if you stick to one household and do not rotate. So maybe that's why they have not fixed it, because it is actually not caused by rotational play...

My sim returned from the Hijinks event and the game lagged a bit. So I saved and restarted the game. (Playing on PS4) when the game started I was surprised that my butler was replaced. The original butler is still my Sim’s BFF and the bed is still claimed by them. I even tried to restart the game again because when my Sim went to bed after the event, her butler was still Malcolm. Restarting the game from that save it is now the new butler, Addyson. I’m really bummed out that he is gone because they have such a developed friendship. Not sure if this affects anything else in the game? But I hope that my debacle can help EA figure this out.

**UPDATE**
I went along and continued playing and after returning my Sim from a date, Malcom is BACK! Yay! I don’t know how or why but I hope he stays. Maybe Malcom needed a vacation? I hope this doesn’t happen again.

@Dravenchylde It seems that every time my Sim travels and comes back, the butler is switched. Ugh! So frustrating.

I've been playing Sims 4 since 2019 and the butlers have never worked properly for me - every time I load up the lot (either from starting the game or visiting another lot), I have to re-do all of the responsibilities, like answering the door, stopping gardening and the bed assignment, because the butler has reset; sometimes it's the same butler, but they've clearly been reset as I have to redo everything, or it's an entirely different butler. The old butler(s) then keeps calling me and trying to hang out like, we're not friends leave me alone lol
They also spend more time dusting desks, drinking my juice and scampering after me for a chat than actually doing what I pay them for! I've seen them do most housework tasks eventually, but I have never seen them autonomously put the laundry on, or put the clean, dry laundry away.
I'm pretty frustrated that this bug has been open since 2018 and it still hasn't been fixed! Happy to supply multiple different affected save files where I have had this issue if that would help! I use no mods or CC, and only have a handful of expansion packs. I do tend to have multiple played sims, but it happens even if I have only one family with a butler and I am pretty sure it happened before I started making other sims to play.

@MerrilynC This just started happening to me too.
I just loaded back in after saving and quitting and a new butler just walked in while the old butler (now a normal sim, without the tag) is still in the butler's bed
the most annoying thing is having to reset the butler's bed and settings.

Also the butler changed after everyone went off lot (bowling)
