"Paint from Reference" Returns Blank Canvas

alright... after hours of testing and restarting the game with and without different things (saves, tray, resetted/deleted documents/thesims4 folder) and graphic settings I figured out what it is!

its the options.ini setting "uiscale" in row 6 of that file.

while I'm on the iMac Retina, playing in 5K I changed this thing "upscale = 100" (which is default) to 150 (that makes the UI smaller) - and thats the issue. So if there is the value 150 it gives me a white painting and black photograph - if its the value 100 it works how it should. I've changed this multiple timesto be totally sure.

So now I think its EA's part to fix that. thanks

After the new city living expansion, my canvas turns blank.

I can create normal paintings, but when i use the "paint from reference", the canvas just stays blank.

Are you on a Mac or PC ?

Same thing is happening to me, paints blank. im on a mac

My photographs and selfies are now coming out blank/black I didn't have this issue before. This is after City living and The patch used to fix this issue

Mine seems to do with City Living too and taking photos, they don't even show when they appear in my sims inventory, also tried putting them on the wall, i've never seen them not be black since the installation of the city living expansion. it's starting to bug me because i love the photography on TS4.

I've tired to repair and update all expansion, game and stuff packs but its not helped...

also i'm on a mac running the newest iOS and i've never hd this problem before...

There's a new issue on macs. You have to turn off Retina Display in your options until that is fixed
