PlantSim Scenario: Photosynthesis not fulfilling

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.87.40.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I simply played the scenario from the start and no cc in that game. Even removed all mods/cc and did a game repair.
What happens when the bug occurs?  I go out in full sun and no option to photosynthesize, she stands there smelling the fresh air and goes back inside.
What do you expect to see? I expect her to photosynthesize being it is required to complete the scenario.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. No changes to my system, but yes there has been an update and the in game thing since beginning the scenario.

Hi Crin,

Thgis is honestly the 3rd scenerio I am so fed up with! I have 100% completed all other requirements for the plantsim scenerio, except for photosynthesizing. I just don't get it, ever since the first day I was able to photosynthesize 5 times out of 25, she is unable to do so. I have repaired my game, removed mods, removed all CC as that game is cc free anyways, her needs are completely full except her hunger is at about 50%. I don't allow her to feed off the plants because she needs to photosynthesize to complete the scenerio. I am ready to give up on scenerios if Maxis doesn't do something to fix them all! If you know of a potion or cheat to get this over and done with, please elaborate lol. :P

How often does the bug occur? Has been going on since the first 5 of 25 photosynthesizing needed to complete. I mean as I said, everything else is complete except that.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? I have MCCC and a few other mods which are fully updated and I ran exceptions mod and nothing came up, but zero cc in that game. And as I said above, tried removing and restarting game, tried game repair and still the same.

@tntterry  If you have Island Living, I would send her to the beach. If not, send her to the park in Oasis Springs and have her fish in the pond or look for frogs for a while. Your location might be more overcast than you think it is.

I am in Henford  on Bagley and the house is literally bathed in sunlight inside and out, so no overcast, and it is supposed to work when partly cloudy anyways. But I don't feel I should have to move mid scenario, and it just might cancel out making me have to start over, which I don't want to do. If I don't get a solution, then scenarios will be no more for me.

@tntterry  I don't think you should have to move mid-scenario, either!  I was just suggesting spending a few Sim hours at the beach or the Oasis Springs park and seeing if that made a difference.

I played this scenario in Henford-on-Bagley, too, and had to go to the beach several times to photosynthesize.

Hi again, according to many other's, if I leave the lot at all, it will cancel the scenario and I cannot risk that. I know you are only trying to help, I just misread your solution as moving 😉

@tntterry  I left the lot repeatedly during the scenario, and it completed fine for me. It’s up to you whether you want to try that or not. Save first if you’re nervous, then travel and if it messes up exit without saving, but again, I left the lot all the time. I lived in the empty lot in Old New Henford (in a tiny house) and went to the garden stall, several places in Sulani, Oasis Springs….

Oh wow, maybe the patch fixed the travel thing then? Going in game now while I am typing, so hopefully this works. OK I saved the game and traveled to Sulani like you suggested, so far so good. OK I was able to photosynthesize the 20 remainder times and traveled back home, and everything seems to be ok. Just talked to a plant to complete the one and only plant requirement and scenario is complete, YAY! But I am still confused as to why it won't work in henford on bagley in full sun? Maybe they bugged the world with this last patch or addons? Wouldn't surprise me, they always seem to break something else when they fix another. Oh well, thanks for your help, mission completed thankfully.

  • If u have strangerville you can just go there during the summer and walk around outside on max speed and talk to people, thats wat i did and it worked to get my sim to absorb the sunlight so i could complete the scenario.
