Re: [ARCHIVED] Copying applies changes don't apply to Non-CAS Outfits

@cozybunnyxo Is this for Sims you go through the Cupid's Gallery or generally ?

Do you only have issues with the hairstyles ? Only certain hairstyles ?

Can you add some pics.

@crinrict This is for my own sims I created. If I go onto CAS and change their hair or appearance at any point duing gameplay, it reverts back when showering etc.

    @cozybunnyxo

Gave this a short test. I think this has something to do with the copy feature in CAS. There have been similar report where the nude outfit didn't adjust to the new hairstyle but now it seems it also reverts.

I gave this a short test and this worked for me

    1. Give new hairstyle

    2. Click on the button to copy the new hair to all outfit

    3. Change it on any outfit you want a different hairstyle

Could you please edit your post and add the following info to your post.

    Product: The Sims 4
    Platform:
Which language are you playing the game in?
How often does the bug occur?
What is your current game version number?
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed?
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves?
What happens when the bug occurs?
What do you expect to see?
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods?
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system?

The bug template is sometimes not being displayed due to high traffic.

@crinrict I edited my post, and I wanted to note that I did indeed did the copy hairstyle to all outfits and it still bugged. It was also reverting back on another Sim when I didn't copy hairstyle to all outfits and did one by one.

@cozybunnyxo Did you just tick all the outfits or click on the button when it said all the outfits.

It worked for me when I did this. I think the issue is that editing the hair doesn't affect the nude outfit anymore and now even overwrites the others after using the nude outfit.

    So this

    and not this

  • Product: The Sims 4

    Platform: Xbox Series X

Which language are you playing the game in? English

How often does the bug occur? Every time

What is your current game version number? 2.1.6.2300

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All content installed

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves?

Use the Apply to All button on a hairstyle when creating a Sim.

What happens when the bug occurs? The original hairstyle will be the default hairstyle when the Sim is showering or sunbathing, basically any time the Sim is nude after the hairstyle has been changed to a new one in CAS.

What do you expect to see? I expect the new hairstyle to be used.

Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console never used.

Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes

Please describe the patch or change you made: the introduction of the Apply to All option.

So I've actually been tracking this in my game since August according to the photos I had stored. I'm attaching images. It's only Sims where the ATA option was used for the hair at the point of creation for me. All my other Sims are fine and if I use the ATA option later on it doesn't happen. It's a bigger problem with the Sim in the first photo, Autumn because she was created with a highlighted style. So her hair actually changes colour as well as style everytime she showers, bathes or sunbathes nude. I've tried applying dozens of new hairstyles for her and used all the variations with the ATA button or not using it at all but I cannot get rid of her original hair. With the other Sim, Demi it's not so bad as it's just an updo.

Also none of their outfits contained the original hairstyle anymore, despite it reappearing in the shower, etc.

Reinstalling my game, clearing locally saved data made no difference.

  • @crinrict it's just while doing those actions, anywhere the Sim would be nude. It did happen with the work outfits too initially but they now have the correct hair.

@simsplayer818 Thanks. Guess it's something else I saw that. Maybe that was a fluke.

It did change all outfits for me.

I actually think there's another thread for the nude outfit. Will need to check.

@crinrict I went back into CAS, changed the hair style again, then changed it back, using the "apply to all" feature, and now the hair is correct when nude. I haven't tested graduation or wedding yet.

    Hello!

We've been unable to reproduce this issue internally, if you are still encountering this on the latest game version (without mods), could you please provide screenshots or save files (save file instructions here http://x.ea.com/74420) of it occurring in-game to assist with our investigation?

    Thanks!

  • It doesn’t work on pc either cuz I play on pc and I have this issue when my sim takes a shower the hair changes back and he has nails on and yes I play with mods cuz I’m on pc but this clearly isn’t a mod issue of console is experiencing it too

  • @EA_Cade The problem exists, what do you mean you couldn't reproduce it? After October, the Sims' hairstyles, when they are naked, in the shower reset to the previous hairstyle that was before October (or randomly). After changing clothes, the hairstyle returns until the next shower. All the Sims bloggers I follow have this problem, when naked, the hairstyle changes. But they don't even think to write about the bug on the forum, they just say "oh, why did your hairstyle change, probably a bug, I hope it will be fixed soon". And the corporation does not see the bug. For the test you need an old save, not a new one.

@EA_Cade I think this might be to do with whether you clicked "apply all" from the everyday outfit or from some other outfit. For example, if you happened to age up your sim in a winter outfit, then change the hair on that outfit using the 'apply all' then it doesn't change the bathing outfit. But if you do it from the everyday outfit using 'apply all' then it DOES change the bathing outfit. So that would explain why some people see it and some don't. It depends on whether you changed it from the everyday outfit or something else (in my case I aged up my sim using his winter outfit when it happened just now, but then it fixed from everyday, but I could reproduce the issue using 'apply all' from the winter outfit).
