- I have the same issue, but have had it for quite a while. I can resize island counters, but not regular ones. So try the island counters if that will work for what you are trying to do. Also, make sure you have auto-counters turned off, they won't resize with auto-counters on.
- Hey there! Just getting back into Sims 4 and I seem to be having the same issue. bb.moveobjects is on, if that matters. The island counters do not resize for me. I will have them on the ground (before buying) and try to downsize and the green square just moves. When I buy the island counter, only sets the item back down after selecting them. When I have no funds, then the counter scales up and down but I obviously can't buy it. I can downscale some things, and not all things smooth move with alt (like coffee pot and trashcan, but counters do?) Is this just a patch or? Any help is appreciated.
- @AltaniH, do you have auto counters on? It's a button over on the left side, just to the right of where it shows how much money your sims have, when you select the counter. You cannot resize auto-counters and need to have that off for resize to work on them.
- AncientMuse24 years agoSeasoned AceOkay I have to ask.... what are you guys doing with resized counters?

I'm wondering the same! Are they even functional when resized? I can imagine sims spazzing out and waving their little arms :D - Serendipity05784 years agoSeasoned AceI have seen builders shrink counters and islands to make other objects functional as surfaces such as items from debug.

I have noticed this also. But not with counters.
Heh! - Kathykins4 years agoSeasoned AceOh right, no wonder I didn't know. I don't use MOO. Didn't watch the video, but I'm assuming that's what they do.
- I use them to freely move other items. For example, some counter appliances still snap with bb.moveobjects on. So you'd put them on an island, shrink the island, then you're free to alt drag both the island and the appliance. This lets you get this closer together to ignore the snap/ object grids. I did this with a coffee pot that I wanted near the back of the counter. Put it on an island, shrunk the island, and moved them both to slip the pot out of the way.

I realized this a little while after I posted. Thank you! - I didn't even realize i could have been resizing counters
but weirdly I'm like 99% sure i could alt place closets from get together before so they wouldn't cut corner awkwardly and now I can't - Kathykins4 years agoSeasoned AceI use Alt-placement a lot, but never tried the closets. I always build a room around them, not placing them out in the open. Some times part of a larger walk-in closet.

i mean yeah but i often end up with like 3 squares of space to use instead of 2 and i think in that situation it used to be possible to slide them along the wall like windows with alt it just bothers me when the edge is weirdly inside wall or something"AncientMuse;c-18096827" wrote:

For one of my builds. I’m gonna put a microwave on the counter, make the counter tiny, and raise the counter above my stove so it will look like a walled microwave. Yes I am aware that the microwave will not be functional, it’s all for aesthetics because basically every home I’ve ever been in has a walled microwave above the stove.- @Frogeems I really wish they would add above-stove mounted microwaves to the game. I agree with you that they are very common and it would be nice to have them in the game AND have them be functional in that position.
Have you tried just raising the microwave using the ] key (with MOO on)? I'm not sure if you can get the desired height that way though.Edited to cross this out because I checked and microwaves can't be raised/lowered. They are like dishwashers in that they are tied to counters. "Stormkeep;c-18097951" wrote:

or even just make ovens that also function as microwave cause those apparently exist and always lacking counter space really- babajayne4 years agoSeasoned Ace

It is so frustrating when sims try to use things that aren’t accessible, especially in a kitchen when they’re just trying to eat. Functionality is more important to me than aesthetics; I’m in the game to play it, not just look at it. - To be fair, sims don't use microwaves autonomously, at least not if you have other cooking options available. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a sim use a microwave autonomously.

They do in dorms (that’s the main place I place them, so I don’t know about anywhere else). It just bothers me in general when I download a great build from the gallery and there are things that aren’t functional. A related example would be that sometimes sims put things down on a counter that was hidden by something with moveobjects and then I can’t find the stinky plates. - @babajayne, I have microwaves in all my dorms but never see them used autonomously there either. I do have the cafeteria vendor stand in all my dorms as well though, which is probably why. Sims prefer to get their food from the vendor over making it in a microwave.
Group serving size meals also just magically show up in my dorms, for recipes which cannot be prepared in microwaves. It's as if the npc dormies have the ability to prepare group meals at the cafeteria vendor object or something. - Ladynightsin4 years agoSeasoned AceHmm, Interesting I thought just me? Great new bug hopefully someone sees it and fix it.

I always have basic kitchens, just enough stuff for my sims to cook the meals they need. I never even use the wall cabinets, because why? They're always blocking the view and they're not functional. I hardly ever use clutter, because that has no function either :D They might get a utensil holder, or a holder for kitchen tissue, that's it. Maybe a fruit bowl.
While the debug/moo'd houses look very nice, they can come with more problems than they're worth. If any house description on the Gallery says, "enable moo before placing", I'm closing that window so fast. I'm not going to spending any time fixing and deleting stuff just so my sims can actually use every inch of that house. - GalacticGal4 years agoLegendWait? We can resize counters? :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: Where have I been?
- MsDSweets4 years agoSeasoned VeteranYes this has been a problem for quite a few months. Yet another glitch. No worries. I'm still gamin'....'Cause I just looove the SIMS!!!
