@Serabee Sorry, bb. I meant shutting down the game and turning it back on, yeah.
Sometimes when a game's been running for a while it starts accumulating a lot of junk data that doesn't go away until you restart it. Though I'm sure you've tried that already.
It likely has something to do with temporary data written somewhere either in the user folder or game folder. I can't think of what to suggest outside of a game repair or refreshing the user folder (that's moving "the sims4" folder found at Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 somewhere else. then restarting the game without it so it can generate a new one. Then you can move your saves, mods, and screenshots back into the new "The Sims4" folder it created for you.)
Yah, unfortunately I've tried that.
I'll give those other things a shot and see how that works.

I’m having the same issue, but I haven’t been playing the Reaper event. I can't get the discovery quest to go away, even though the box is unchecked in the settings menu. It's the quest that gives you money, but the quest has to be glitched itself because I'm not completing the goals, but it's still giving me $400 like every two seconds. It's making the game unplayable.
I've restarted and now I'm repairing the game. Fingers crossed.
EDIT: Restarting and repairing did nothing.

Same here, I think it's a bug and hopefully it will get fixed!
