Hello! @Bluebellflora
I've done as you suggested but I'm afraid it was still the same.
Also I don't know if this help, but the restaurant looks a bit corrupted when you look at in the WorldMap, like so:
Any other suggestions?
Bes tergards,
ToKi

@Bluebellfloraquick update on that. As I thought the graphics didn't really like the depth of my lake, so I went and deleted the lake (for now) in my save game and the world game looks just fine, but the error is still there.
In addition, this is what shows right after the messages comes out (this is what it always showed but I never took a SS):
But then I go in and the restaurant had nothing missing ...:
Best regards,

I merged your post into this thread on the issue. It’s not a Mac specific problem. Have a read through the other posts to see if anything helps, maybe someone more knowledgable on game issues can help you 🙂 - ToKiHyou3 years agoSeasoned Scout@Bluebellflora Yeah, apologies, not sure why I put it there, I think I was just really bummed about my restaurant that I didn't event check where I was posting.
Hopefully I can find someone to help, I really was excited about this restaurant and I kinda don't want to have to build it again, cause it took me FOREVER. And it would be nice to solve any issues before March 16, when the new expansion comes out 😬😬😬. - KatJustice973 years agoRising Scout
@ToKiHyou This is a long shot, I'll be honest, but maybe it has something to do with the number of dining spots in your restaurant? I don't know if 99 is accurate or if that's what it caps out at (or is a visual representation of the game glitching when it attempts to assign them), but it seems like a lot, and I'm wondering if it's maybe overloading the process that Dine Out runs when it checks to see which seats are valid dining spots, thereby making it think there are none (sort of an integer overflow type thing
Try removing a bunch of tables/chairs (or just un-slotting the chairs from said tables) and see if that fixes it. And if you haven't yet, perhaps try installing TwistedMexi's Better Exceptions mod and see if it spits out anything useful (unlikely, imo, but it can't hurt).
- ToKiHyou3 years agoSeasoned Scout@KatJustice97 @KatJustice97 Hello!
Thank you so much for answering!
I had an initial count of 99 tables and chairs and now i have 46 but I still have the same problem. is there an ideal amount of tables I should have?
As I don't use mods, or CC I'd rather not install any if that is okay? 🙏🏾
Thanks again in advance!

@ToKiHyouI don't know about an "ideal," but logistically, I believe TS4 only allows a total of 20 Sims on one lot unmodded. So counting a minimum of one each chef, waiter, and host, minimum one playable sim, and the unlikely scenario that each dining party consists of only one sim, you should need at MOST 16 seats. Realistically, it's unlikely you'll need even that much, but I find somewhere around that number looks nice aesthetically.
It might be worth fulfilling the minimum number of requirements for the lot and see if that helps, or perhaps swap out the tables and/or chairs used. Maybe also try setting everything (chefs station, host station, wait station, and at least one dining seat) aside in a wide open space to be absolutely sure the game isn't disregarding it due to inaccessibility. You could also try setting it as a generic lot, then saving and replacing it, then set it back to a restaurant.
And if you haven't yet, reinstalling the game could help. If you still use the Origin launcher, you can try right clicking and choosing "repair game" before resorting to an outright reinstall. I'm unsure if the EA launcher has a similar mechanic, though I'd expect it would.ETA: you don't have to install Better Exceptions if you'd prefer not to, though it doesn't actually affect your game in any way. All it does in intercept when the game throws an error and makes the error file more readable. It could help diagnose the issue, but it's not necessary.
- ToKiHyou3 years agoSeasoned Scout@KatJustice97 Hello me again, apologies for the delay in reply!
I tried to just stick to the minimum requirements and also tried repairing the game, but it didn't do anything.
One thing i did notice why making the restaurant is that on my ground floor, above the platform, the level 3 walls, weren't quite level 3. It was like they were a bit detached from the platform and I am now wondering if it just sees the whole building as faulty, which would suck because I don't have the energy to rebuild it right now ... but i have a feeling that THAT glitch has something to do with it.
Has anyone tired to see if my restaurant perhaps works in their game?
Best regards,
ToKi - KatJustice973 years agoRising Scout@ToKiHyou I would, but I haven't updated my game yet and likely won't for a while yet, and you can't add lots from newer game versions unfortunately. A good way to test would just be to delete that potentially glitchy room, make sure the lot still has the requirements net (just put stuff on the grass if you need to, it's just for testing), and give it another go
- @ToKiHyou Did you figure this out

Hello everyone!
Apologies for the suuuuuperlate reply!
After trying literally everything, I had a feeling i had to destroy it and build another one, and the mere idea made me so made, that I didn't play for like two weeks.
Once I got over myself, I destroyed it and built another restaurant, and it worked with all waiters etc (you can only have one host though), so I do believe it was that error in the floor level on the ground floor.
Thank you so much for everyone who offered to help me,
Toki

To anyone else having issues with restaurants not loading, regardless of CC use, a new mod was released on ModTheSims that claims to help prevent issues relating to placemat drawings, it might be worth installing if nothing else is working for you! I'm unsure if I'm allowed to link to it here, but in case the link breaks, it's called " No more placemats - no more broken restaurants" by VeiledWoman on ModTheSims.
[Cm Edit: Mod linked removed]
- @KatJustice97 Thank you very much, I deleted the placemat from one table in build mode and finally, the game is working 🙂
This is definitely caused by placements. Today I was playing on my sims wend to a date at a restaurant, everything was fine. Then the next day I sent them to the same restaurant using the map and the got the save error. I thought it was a fluke, rebooted, tried again. Save error again. Tried sending them on a date instead of directly traveling. Same issue.
I poked around the internet, eventually found this thread: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mod-CC-Issues/DO-Error-123-20ece5dd/td-p/7099951/page/6 which mentioned placements. Loaded the restaurant through Manage Worlds, there was a child's drawing on one of the tables. I deleted it, went back to my sims and now they can travel to the restaurant no problem.
Ctrl+F on Better Exceptions listed the following, placemat specific possible issues:
- self: <sims4.tuning.instances.zoneDirector_Restaurant object at 0x00007FF4789B8450>, dining_spot_tests: [ImmutableSlots({'count': 1, 'object_tags': TunableVenueObjectTagsWrapper.factory, 'parent_tags': TunableVenueObjectTagsWrapper.factory, 'required_object_test_tag': <VenueObjectTestTag.Venue_Restaurant_Dining_Slot_Test = 1>}), ImmutableSlots({'count': 2, 'object_tags': TunableVenueObjectTagsWrapper.factory, 'parent_tags': TunableVenueObjectTagsWrapper.factory, 'required_object_test_tag': <VenueObjectTestTag.Venue_Restaurant_Dining_Slot_Test = 1>})], table_ids_dirty: set(), object_manager: object_manager, table_list: [object_Placemat(0x0f95124a1d1f1215), object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdad7443), object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdae74b9), object_tableDining_2x1(0x0dd511bfcdac729d), object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdac7392), object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdad73fe), object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdac733b), object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdac728c), object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdac7283), object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdac7314), object_tableDiningBar_Generic(0x0dd511bfcdac730c), object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdac72bf), object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdad7451), object_tableDiningBar_Generic(0x0dd511bfcdad73d5), object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdac72c6), object_tableDining_2x1(0x0dd511bfcdad7476), object_tableDining_2x1(0x0dd511bfcdab7261), object_tableDining_3x1(0x0dd511bfcdac7363)], child_tags: {<Tag.Func_Stool = 1008>, <Tag.Func_Booth = 26629>, <Tag.Func_DiningChair = 1006>}, test: ImmutableSlots({'count': 2, 'object_tags': TunableVenueObjectTagsWrapper.factory, 'parent_tags': TunableVenueObjectTagsWrapper.factory, 'required_object_test_tag': <VenueObjectTestTag.Venue_Restaurant_Dining_Slot_Test = 1>}), table: object_Placemat:0x0f95124a1d1f1215, table_id_dict: {1122823791624262165: object_Placemat(0x0f95124a1d1f1215), 996722408019555395: object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdad7443), 996722408019621049: object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdae74b9), 996722408019489437: object_tableDining_2x1(0x0dd511bfcdac729d), 996722408019489682: object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdac7392), 996722408019555326: object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdad73fe), 996722408019489595: object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdac733b), 996722408019489420: object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdac728c), 996722408019489411: object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdac7283), 996722408019489556: object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdac7314), 996722408019489548: object_tableDiningBar_Generic(0x0dd511bfcdac730c), 996722408019489471: object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdac72bf), 996722408019555409: object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdad7451), 996722408019555285: object_tableDiningBar_Generic(0x0dd511bfcdad73d5), 996722408019489478: object_tableDining_1x1(0x0dd511bfcdac72c6), 996722408019555446: object_tableDining_2x1(0x0dd511bfcdad7476), 996722408019423841: object_tableDining_2x1(0x0dd511bfcdab7261), 996722408019489635: object_tableDining_3x1(0x0dd511bfcdac7363)}, table_ids_removed: [], dining_spot_dict: {},

@BluebellfloraPlease stop giving kneejerk responses that basically amounts to "your game is screwed, please make it even more unplayable and tell us if that works." This is an EA game we're talking about that's got over 8 years of interns rubbing their greasy paws in the code. Give the users some credit and assume that if they have enough savvy to take a screenshot of the error code, then maybe they're not complete idiots.
