@Cryo_SD I might have a workaround for you and your wife to complete the Event! And anyone else with more than one xbox in their household.
I also had an issue with week 5, except I'd completed "An Inspiring Potion" and had "Skilled Chef" missing. I had both quests before the forced update kicked me out my game, thanks EA.
I fixed my issue and completed wk5 & wk6 as follows...
Sign into another xbox and launch Sims 4
Load a New Game.
Create a sim (I replaced them with a high skilled sim from My Library to speed things up).
Place household in a lot and play.
I then got the "Skilled Chef" quest for Week 5 that I was missing.
Play through the rest of the quests to complete all.
Claim the remaining rewards.
Save Game. (I did this in case and over my oldest save)
Sign out of xbox.
Sign in to your usual xbox and launch sims.
Load any game save you want to play.
You should now have all the CAS and Build/Buy items available.
I only had the base game on the 2nd xbox, I didn't bother with any EPs, hence why I created a new game, might work with an already saved game but I couldn't sit there installing everything.
