@crinrictThis happened to me. I was already friends with Grim from doing last week's tasks. I summoned him for this week's task thinking that the same Grim would should up, I would chat with him and complete the task. Instead, a second Grim showed up in my relationship panel and on my lot. I befriended him and got the task done but I don't want a different Grim to spawn every week for this event. What will happen when my game has multiple Grims in it?
Another issue is that I got all the rewards up to and including the new book but the event UI is showing the task to wait for the ambrosia newsletter and befriend Grim again and there is no green checkmark on the main UI on this week's tab. I summoned Grim again and this time the second Grim showed up instead of a completely new one spawning. We spoke I got the task completed again but I cannot get another newsletter. I've tried three times to expedite the mail delivery but nothing happens. I'm hoping things will move along as they should once next week's tasks are available but we'll see.
This could have been somewhat fun without the continued issues but what was already an exercise in jumping through hoops just has more hoops to jump through to make it work the way it's supposed to.
These things should be scenarios, NOT limited time events. EA/Maxis really needs to reconsider what they are doing here.
Update: So it seems that my issue of getting the same tasks showing up multiple times (newsletter and befriending Grim) were related to traveling. Unlike in week 1 where the UI became blank after traveling off lot, this time everything was okay when I traveled to another lot but then I got the repeat tasks upon returning to my home lot. Things seemed stuck as described above until I switched households. After a bit of time with another household I expedited the mail delivery of the newsletter to see what would happen. I received the newsletter and 5 other copies of it (assuming these are the ones I requested with my original household that never showed up). I was then able to complete the remaining week 2 tasks with my second household.
Just wanted to report that the event may not be as fixed as Maxis thinks.
I don't know if it's connected, but my sims can socialise successfully with the reaper, then once the socialising ends, without any negative interactions, the socialisation green bar goes back to nearly zero and so the task doesn't ever complete. I've tried it with every member of the household, the same has happened every time. :/
All the other tasks in the event have worked for me just fine...
I have been able to complete all parts of the challenge for week 2 except becoming his friend but if you look at my screen shot I know everything about him and are "good friends". The game still won't give me the reward. Urgh.
I did summon him via Grimophone. I made a new save specifically for this event so if there are multiple Grims, idk what's causing it.
Just tried. It was the same Grim unfortunately 🙂

OK problem is resolved. I killed a random sim to see if there was another grim, nope looked like the same grim but after he collected soul from this poor random sim, did a friendly interaction with him then it checked off the reward. Task completed.
I agree, traveling is throwing off the task list and making the newsletter, grim, planting and fishing regenerate. I cleared my game originally by the instructions the first time, removing MCCC and the whole mods folder. The task list reset and I was good. I havent put the mods back and the second week tasks started resetting after I completed them and started traveling.
I have had this problem, too, I tried to complete it, but the game crashed, and when I loaded it back up, the "befriend quest" hasn't worked since it crashed. I've tried befriending him with different families and on different save files, but nothing is working. I simply cant get past this quest
This is exactly what has happened to my game. It crashed, and now I cant get past the quest. Ive tired on multiple game saves with different families, but had no look. I have no mods, and have tried all previous suggestions, but none of them have worked.
Me too I'm 77/100 with the friendship bar and it won't mark it as completed and it won't give me the last reward. So I can't move forward with the event.
I am having the same issue. It’s so frustrating! Did you get it fixed?
