Re: [ARCHIVED] Sims Icons staying grey after coming back from work

Well after a bit of testing my results are as follows:

I loaded up a family of sims that had been experiencing the bug and just hit triple speed and let them self manage for the afternoon until the teenage son went to work. And he got stuck there, as usual.

So I quit and started a new game in a new neigborhood and made a new single sim family and put her in the exact same house with furnishings provided by the game and then edited or modified by me. It was Sunday, of course, so she got a job as an Astronaut and Monday morning went to work. I just triple sped through it letting her self manage. She goes to work and I don't change what she was doing at work (work hard, slack off, study things or whatever) and to my surprise she came home and was actually home, for real, no grey.

So I made her go to work the next day but this time made her work hard the whole time. She came home. Like she should.

So I had her quit and join the Secret Agent career. She went to work the next day and chatted up her coworkers. And came home. No grey.

So I had her quit and become an Entertainer. She went to work and schmoozed with celebs. And came home. No grey.

So maybe I was just lucky or maybe it gets baked into a save. I know that the first time I played the game I did not experience the bug at all and never knew about it. I was playing with my sister and her sim was a Secret Agent and mine a Writer and no issues for either. But my game that I started by myself (and every one that followed) has had the bug. Until this one.

If others might contribute to my testing with a few more variables or if I find anything else myself it would probably be helpful. So perhaps they did fix it and perhaps they didn't. At this time I'm not certain.

Perhaps the best bet is to just speed through day one of the game and see if it happens. If it does, quit and try again. If it doesn't enjoy your game. *shrug* Maybe save before doing anything and if it is a good game load and play it and if not erase it and try again? Hope that helps.
