Re: Cozy Celebrations: Wraths can't be claimed on menu although button available
Hello Everyone,
Please read this very helpful blog regarding how to successfully achieve the Cozy Celebrations Events to unlock these items. It is created on Crinrict's site.
https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2024/11/cozy-celebrations-event/
In following Crinrict’s suggestions…
I made a whole new game by saving my original game (Saves folder, Mods folder, and even my Tray folder) to another folder location on my desktop for safe keeping and making it easier to find later or you can save them onto an external drive for temporary keeping to prevent taking up more space on your computer.
Then make sure you remove your localthumbcache.package file in your Documents> EA Folder> Sims 4. This will ensure any memories the game might retained of mods or cc is removed.
*** If you are going to switch back and forth between your current game and the other you have created for your Cozy Celebrations Event game, please remember to delete the localthumbcache.package file every time you switch these games out of your folders!
The two exceptions I made from what Crinrict suggested, is....
- I did not rename files for the new saves, as all event unlocked items are saved directly to your account itself.
*** The only time to do this is if you wish to switch back and forth between playing for the events and your current game to ensure total separation.
*** I learned it is best too, in keeping only one saved game in at a time. Not have two saved games in at the same time.
- The second exception, for my own peace of mind, is not taking a Sim from the Gallery to use, as I created my own, using only EA content and to ensure no mods were used by other creators who submitted their Sim/Sim Family creations. Plus, I wanted to ensure I create a Sim with the right traits, likes/dislikes, etc. to make it easier to build up the necessary skills quickly that we will need to get these goodies. (Cooking, Mixology, and Music)
With this, I made sure my sim had Aspirations of being a Chef, had hobbies/lifestyles of being creative, loved music, and is a foodie. For likes I made sure they had a love for music, cooking, baking, mixology, etc.
*** It is wisely recommended by Crinrict not to add infants/toddlers, pets, or occults as they can muck your game up as well.
***I even decided to make and keep my Sim single for added security.
I know it may seem like a pain to have to build up your new sim's cooking, music, and mixology skills from scratch, which will be needed for these rewards. But it really doesn't take long to build them up. Plus, EA is making sure everyone will have enough time to complete these events because it is the holiday season and they realize we all have busy lives this time of year and… to ensure everyone has fun playing these events instead of making it feeling like a chore.
Within the first week of playing for these rewards, I have successfully maxed my Sim's cooking and mixology already and is also at a skill level of 7 for my music.
I will admit I used money cheats to get them all high-end appliances for the kitchen, a piano for learning music, and the newly, recently added One-tile bar we all received as a base game add-on. Plus, I am not sure what to expect for any upcoming requirements we will need to fulfill... so I had fun going the distance of creating a really nice home for my sim, just in case of any parties or festivities our Sims might need to host. If not, either way, my Sim will live poshly in her cozy, warm, and inviting Country style home throughout this event.
**** Most importantly: To claim your rewards, you will need to look at your messages/notifications in game.
This is where we receive other notifications for when we gain a skill level, etc. which is located at the top right corner of your in-game screen. It is here we are notified we have successfully completed the points necessary to claim these items. The link we need to claim our rewards is within that very message/notification.
I hope this will be of help to all of you, as I have successfully completed both weeks so far and am enjoying these items in my game. Thank you, EA! And thank you @crinrict
