I think it depends on the fact that sentiments, once they disappear (when the red icon disappears from the sim's information panel), actually still remain in the code for much longer. So one is bound to believe that the aversive sentiment has disappeared, when it has not.

    I think that's 100% correct. I would bet that it is the sentiments causing issues long after they've gone away.
