Re: [FIXED] [FR] Rental Protest unsolveable/Revolt on 5* units

Before you talk to the tenant to promise better conditions you have to visit the unit of the sim who started the protest.

•Open the rental agreement once you are in the unit to look at the condition of the rental. You will see why the rental is rated at it's current star rating.

•You have to then go into world view while you, the landlord, is still in the unit.

•Go into build mode for the unit.

•Edit the unit to make the changes necessary to increase the star rating for the unit. If the environment is lacking, you need to add more decor and so on that increase environment and lot value.

•When you are finished, save and go back into world view.

•Locate and select your landlord's household to play.

•Last, have your landlord sim talk to the tenant and choose the option to promise better conditions. This should complete the event.

I hope this helps! Good luck!

Thank you! This worked for me, I was so confused. I kept trying to talk friendly with the revolting tenants, but every time I tried promising better conditions, I got minus in friendship. I did travel to the revolting tenant's unit since the info bit that announced the revolt started did mention going straight to the tenant's unit, but wouldn't have even thought that you have to -first- fix, and only after promise. Promise in itself is something that you aim to do in the future, not something you already did, so wording absolutely did not make it clear that you have to do it in the opposite order.

I did as you instructed and that worked like a charm!

Yeah no way, that's far too much diddling around. The way they set up the units being invisible and having to travel to them then dink in and of units and in this case also world map to go back to play the landlord to resume this "event" is ridiculous.

Going to pass on ever doing this "event" - it's going in the too hard bin.

  • The advice is slightly incorrect. It's a chance based interaction. You don't necessarily have to go into build mode to fix the issue, you just need to solve whatever problem exists on the lot. Usually it's a broken toilet, sink, or garbage on the floor. Once you fix the problem, you should then attempt the interaction. High relationship with the tenant also greatly increases success chance. Theoretically, with a high enough relationship with a tenant, you don't even have to fix the problem. Most of these interactions are set to default 30% fixed chance to disapprove, like many other interactions that Maxis lazily designed. A talented game designer doesn't set a default fail chance to something like this. It's The Sims, not World of Warcraft.

I have no tenant rules to remove. It's a medium sized space with desirable amenities and satisfactory maintenance. The only thing listed is environment being lacking - and you cannot change a rentals features unless you kick the tenant out. How about making events relevant to situations instead of randomly spawning things that make no sense?

@wecantpickaname These are very specific instructions that are not in the walk through when you first get this game and if the result of not doing this laundry list of steps in the exact order is a broken game it seems the game was not ready to be sold to us! I paid for this and now this issue has seeped over into the rest of my game making all of very upsetting. I know you’re just trying to help but most of us here are long past the instructions you gave. My tenants have since been evicted, lot sold and tried to change back to residential in an effort to get far away from using this gameplay and now it’s just haunting my whole game. Thanks for trying and appreciate your effort and engagement 💞💞💞Anyone trying to offer any kind of help. I appreciate you so much!!!
  • All good. Hopefully the event will be fixed soon to include something to guide us through the process to complete the event. A lot of guesswork went into trying to figure it out.
