Re: [FIXED] Plants playing dead (emitting green cloud)

This has been going on for at least a month and has been driving me crazy because I love gardening in the sims. I have seen a few other complaints about this problem but nothing has been done yet and I feel like this is kind of a big issue.

Sometimes a large group of my plants will decide to "stink" all at once, as if they're dead but they aren't. There is no option to dispose of them and my sim can keep interacting with them. They just don't produce anything and revert back to a pile of dirt over time. Eventually they grow back but the same thing happens again, like an endless cycle. I have tried using cheats to revert the growth stage and advance it to maturity again, but the plants still don't produce anything and they turn smelly again later anyway. When I close the game and come back everything reverted to dirt piles as well. My sim is a florist and I'm going nuts.

Is this common and is there a known solution? Thanks

@Caseyface96 It has happened to me before on a number of occasions, but I didn't see it happen for a long time, and then just recently it started again. Very frustrating indeed.

I have found that the cowplant in particular is always glitchy with "sinking' away, and I don't even bother trying to grow them anymore.

But many of my Sims live off their exotic flower sales, so it's very frustrating every time the plants sink because they get no income for a few days.

Last time I just waited for EA to fix it. ☹️
  • Okay everyone... for those of us who are still struggling with this bug (I can’t believe EA hasn’t fixed this yet) get yourself the Basemental Eco Hacks Mod ( https://modthesims.info/d/645610/basemental-eco-hacks.htm ) and set your neighbourhood footprint to green and change the decay to locked. This way it stops the footprint from changing and causing your plants to “die”! Thus far, it is working for me and has been a lifesaver!

Your link is broken, but I'll try looking it up, thanks. I can't believe they haven't fixed this yet, either! Someone else said it seems to happen only with evolved plants in green eco neighborhoods and I think they were right. All my Sim's plants were evolved and when the neighborhood reached green status suddenly almost all of their plants had that green cloud. Some died for real which was really annoying since there was no reason for it, they were well taken care of, and none of them produce...

  • I was wondering if that might be the same for me, but nope! The ones that stink have been evolved, but my sims neighbourhood has not gone to the green status. I am playing a Decades Challenge so this is my main source of income, super frustrating!
