Re: [ARCHIVED] [HSY] Social Bunny app freezes/lags my game

I like to use the Social Bunny app but I have been having this problem as well.  I don't use mods or cc.  Sometimes the game will allow me to close the window and give me the option to save and exit but most times I have to force close with task manager or even turn my computer off.  This last time it has happened it has crashed after me waiting an age for it try and catch up with itself and it has corrupted the game files.  Just doing a repair at the moment and hoping for the best.  When will this problem be addressed please?

    Ugh I’m having the same exact problem, my game is completely frozen in a dark screen because the social bunny thing didn’t load properly, it seems like my only option is to close out of the game and lose so much progress…I’m so mad.

    @TechySyd I'm curious, how did you shut down your game? did you get an option to save and exit? Are you using windows or a console or a mac?

    I'm wondering if this issue exists on consoles as well as desktops. Which would rule out mods completely if that were the case.

    I got an option to save and exit by right-clicking the Sims 4 icon on the taskbar. I'm also wondering if one doesn't get the option to save and exit when using a different method for shutting it down. (If you're using Windows, that is.)

    Yes, I got that option as well thank goodness! I actually just spammed a bunch of buttons and it gave me the “save and exit game?” pop up in game. O restarted my laptop after and when I went back in I was able to retrieve my files perfectly fine, and I didn’t have the issue again. However, I am having other issues with social bunny, such as my sim being unable to send flirty messages with other teens but she can only send flirty messages to her parents…yikes. I made a separate discussion post for that! 

    I’m using my ASUS laptop which has Microsoft Windows, and I have no mods or custom content installed. Previous times my sims game has frozen have been through other phone interactions, such as ordering a delivery.

    GUYS I FOUND OUT A TEMPORARY SOLUTION. You *can* save before you close, even after freezing!

    If you pop out your gaming window to be a window and not full screen (google how to do this, changes depending on operating system), then you can click the X in the corner and it'll confirm if you want to save and exit! So you don't have to force quit or turn your computer off! ♥

    EDIT: It may corrupt your game but you can still right click then repair the game in the EA hub and that should fix it. I wouldn't want to do all of this regularly given the time constraints but I might be desperate enough depending on how long I'd gone since my last save!

    on ps 4, when pressing smiley twice in succssesion, on a comment in social bunny, you're stuck on the screen, no way out but to exit the game. saving is possible though.

    I'm on PS5 and I can use the social bunny app but after I close it I can't use the pointer to do anything. The only thing I can do is save and exit, and since my Sims appreciation is social teen, I need to be able to use social bunny for her
