Re: [OPEN] Sims don't have option to blow out candles

Hi @PipMenace just fyi I used Age Up... on a cake recently to age up a sim's friend. I only have 2 mods, one is HomeRegions and the other is to remove the shopping cart button, neither affect cakes or aging. Can't recall right now which sims on the lot did and didn't appear as choices, but it would definitely be possible in a vanilla game.

@mightyspritesims And you are correct! I could have sworn that didn’t used to be there - even had a mod for a while to help age up friends. Cool! Apologies @Skullmorish

Still, always best to test without mods anyway. And you say even with mods out, you can’t age up this one particular Sim? Are they any kind of supernatural?

  • @PipMenace well, now that you mention it, she's a spellcaster, but in the past I've seen many spellcaster sims age up just fine...

But i can't even cheat age her up, it just wont work.. I'm to the point where I'll probably clear my cache, but i don't really feel like it'll work.

And to clear some questions, and re-state some things cuz I'm bad with words lol,

She's a teen sim, her life stage bar, which you see when you click on the simology panel with y, is completely full, when you hover over it with the cursor it says "Your sim is ready to age up!.."

And with her Sisters; One which is her younger sister who just aged into a teen, and the other who is already a young adult, all the age-up options are there when you click on the cake.

Like tasting the frosting, make a wish whatever.

I think it could be a part of the patch that just came out, because for some reason the sisters i mentioned, plus their mother all aged up on the same day which really weirded me out.

If anyone can help me figure this out I'd deeply appreciate it thx!

Oh plus I've been trying my best to keep all my mods up to date sooo...

@Skullmorish Just to double check - did you test with all mods removed, or only without modded cakes? If you hasn't tested with all mods removed yet, try dragging the mod folder to desktop, deleting the localthumbcache, and test again. Don't save while mods are out.

Marked as Solution for Visibility. This is still an open issue.

    Sul Sul!

Is anyone still seeing this without mods or custom content installed? If so, would you be willing to share affected save files?

One of my sims can't blow out candles/ make a wish/ etc. on a birthday cake. All others can, but when I click the cake with her selected, most options are grayed out, only "celebrate" and "remove candles" are available.

EDIT: She has the Immortal Wolf trait. This is probably why she can't blow out the candles. It's weird though, she's a young adult, and her age meter has been increasing. Her birthday is on the calendar. I kind of thought that the Immortal Wolf trait would have her age up naturally to an elder, then just never die of old age. But anyway I think the cake issue is by design and not a bug.

  • This happened to one of mine too and I don't have any mods.  Also don't have any of the supernatural packs.

The sim had just 'tried for a baby' and maybe that's what it was, but seems a bit harsh if you can't celebrate your birthday because you're pregnant!
