Re: [ARCHIVED] Newlyweds can't cut first slice of wedding cake
I just encountered this today in a save. As a matter-of-fact, this was the most messed up wedding I've ever held in a save overall.
Most of the time whenever I hold a wedding, I have the couple already living together and those weddings have been working fine. This time that wasn't the case because I was going to move my active sim in with the groom, whose household I haven't played, instead of having him join her household. I'm not sure whether or not the fact I couldn't control him contributed to the problem.
Issues started while the sims were kissing at the end of the ceremony, suddenly all the goals started fulfilling, i.e. talk to guests, thank for coming etc.. Take the first slice of cake was left unfulfilled so I had my sim add a wedding topper to the cake I had brought to the venue, in this case San Myshuno Meadows. I tried placing the cake on a table first, since that's normally where I place it, then tried it on a counter in the kitchen. As shown in the pic there wasn't an option to cut cake and the option to take a piece was grayed out saying the newlyweds had to take the first slice. That was the case even when I had the cake on a table. I actually tried two different tables before placing it on the counter. If the wedding topper was removed, all normal options for a cake were present and taking a slice didn't count as first slice to achieve the wedding goal.

EDIT to add: I also tried having the sim bake a white cake while there, in case the problem was the winter cake I had her bring but ran into the same problem
