Sims in a relationship say they’re single

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.63.134.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? None
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Ask a sim in a relationship if they’re single, they say yes or sims in a relationship with each other can ask if they’re single despite already being together
What happens when the bug occurs? Sims in a relationship say they’re single. If they cheat there is no guilt/admission to cheating (like sims 3)
What do you expect to see? Saying they’re in a relationship
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Very weird bug! I only got sims 4 last week and it’s done this since the moment I downloaded. Sims I’m controlling say they’re not in a relationship to other sims despite definitely being in one. They can also ask their boyfriend/girlfriend if they’re single and they say they are!

Also when sims cheat there is no guilt or confess cheating option, there used to be on sims 3, so I’m not sure if this works on here anyway but it seems weird they can cheat with no mood lets!

    @alannahmessett I've never tried using the Promised action before (because there was a bug in the old days where teens would age up and never be able to get engaged. I think that's fixed but I still never use it).

    I don't know if the game considers that a relationship - do they have the option to "Ask to be Boyfriend/Girlfriend" in their romantic options? You need to have that to be considered not single. That then gets replaced by engaged and married.

    @simvasion No they don’t have the ask to be boyfriend/girlfriend option, and they can do all of the usual romantic options, it’s just a really small annoying bug.

    So I’ve just tested it with a few other sims - making them boyfriend and girlfriend and they don’t have the option of asking if single. So I think it’s something to do with My original sims being promised/aging up from teens during their relationship!

    I literally had this issue yesterday and somehow fixed it today. I had restarted my game many times, ended up evicting the household because it was bugging out. The two sims had already gone through the works of dating and asking to be partners, even exchanged promise rings, and all of a sudden on their Christmas, it showed they weren't dating even though they were. I tried to just make them date again and the option "ask if single" was the only option available, along with the regular flirting and such. After selecting that, it did not pop up to ask to be gf or bf. So, after evicting and making a whole new household, it was still buggy. So I deleted the new household all together, went to the previous original household, copied it into my gallery, deleted the existing "not placed in world" household I had evicted, and then closed the game after saving. Gave it about 5 mins to stay closed, opened the game again, and hit start NEW GAME. The create a sim opened to make a new household, I went in to the gallery and selected to use the copy of the og household, "are you sure you want to replace this household blahblahblah", yes, and then went and placed them in a house. Their relationships and such reset like they were new sims, but their skills carried over surprisingly and even their New Years resolutions and school grade (i was tinkering alot trying to fix without deleting first, they are teens), cool bonus, and it fixed the issue. All I had to do was rebuild their relationship. I hope this helped, if not you, then someone else who's having these issues too. And so far my 'new' game is running smoothly.

    I just noticed this in an LP on youtube, but when teens that are boyfriend/girlfriend and get promised to each other, they lose the boyfriend/girlfriend bit on their profile. 

    which triggered the NPC boyfriend to ask them to be boyfriends again, but I don't know if they regained that relationship bit on their profile

    yes this is happening in an unmodded game and this happening to me, using the relationship panel that got added with the update i made my teen sim ask his romantic interest to break up, she did they got together as teens, now aged up and living together, her ex recently asked if she was single tk which her reply was yes. she is not. her and her SO have been together since high school. 

    im currently playing on a laptop with no mods at all installed.
