[UNSURE] [DU] Term GPA Avid Academic Glitch

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? Unsure
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? The sim has reached graduation and has an overall GPA of B- and term gpa of A+ but the Avid Academic aspiration goal of "Have a Term GPA of B or Higher" did not complete.
What happens when the bug occurs? The sim doesn't get the goal of having a term gpa of B or higher despite having a term GPA of A+
What do you expect to see? I expected the aspiration goal for avid academic to be completed since my sim's term gpa was an A+
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made.

No additional information.

  • @blkgirlsimmer  I noticed this in my game too.  But I figured out that the trigger on the milestone is not a term GPS for a single term.  It is the cumulative GPA of all classes in all terms.  And it works just like in the real world.  So the milestone text is misleading.  And since you got a B- overall GPA which is less than a B, you didn't complete the milestone even though you had a term with an A+ GPA.  The devs should change the wording on that milestone to reflect that it an overall cumulative GPA so people don't get the idea that they need to just get a B or better GPA in a single term to complete the milestone.

@CGrant56  It seems as though they changed the milestone but the did not change how it functioned.  It used to work with the term GPA.  They changed it to a B from an A in the milestone description.  It seems like they fully didn't update the milestone.

Did you try clearing your cache files?

Your sim needs a GPA of 2.835 or higher. B- might be too low (it's less than a straight B afterall).

@kusurusu The term GPA was an A+.  The total GPA was a B-.  the function of the aspiration said to finish with a term grade of B or higher.  The wording is confusing if it means the overall GPA.

  • I play sims 4 on Xbox and am currently trying to do the academic aspiration. the second part of it requires finishing a course with the grade of an A but my sims finished with an A+ and didn't get it. do I need to have my sim selected in order for it to count or do i need an A and not an A+?

@canelacaliente I don't think this is the issue as I'm having the same problem and my sim graduated with honours having an overall GPA of A/A+
