[WORKAROUND] Can't click anything beyond the UI

There's been others with this issue. I've just not added it cause I believe it might be a conflict with something.

I've added this threads now so everyone with this issue can compare notes.

I assume it never worked and it doesn't work in a new game either ?

For now, Try if it the issue goes away if you do a clean boot: http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/ adn have no other background programs running. Start Origin in offline mode.

Please all add as much info as possible

1. Is it only the live mode that doesn't work 
2. Does the GUI work ?
3. Did this happen from start in this save game ?
4. Does reloading the game help ?
5. Anything else ?

I do not consider it perfect for removing problem, I think the game should work in a standard setup, but before you go out and patch repair is sufficient remedy.

The same happened to me. I have tried restarting my PC, reinstalling the game, moving, creating a new family and nothing. I installed through origin with no disc. I can interact fine on build and buy mode but when I click nothing happens. I cant even make them move. All on screen link work such as the gallery but nothing else. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

3 - For the first time, created the game normally created my sim and then built my house, and then found out they were not interacting with anything,

4- Im the reloading the game, reinstalling the game and no works

5-  My drivers are the latest versions.

In my video is showing that I can not interact with objects around me, just my AI but it's working.

1. yes - build mode and everything else works. In Live mode the sims will act on their own but the interaction menu does not appear when I click on anything so I cannot issue any commands. 

2. yes - Everything except bringing up the interaction menu, when I mouse over an object that should have an interaction menu the cursor changes but clicking does nothing. I can click on the moodlet and the "suggestion" action will queue an action to sort out the problem e.g. clicking the hunger moodlet will queues up an action to make food. 

3. It happens with new sims and pre-made sims.

4. Reloading the game doesn't help, neither does repairing the game through origin or restarting my computer.

5. yes - reupdated all the drivers and still not working

6. I put the graphics options to low as well, and played around with most of the in game options but nothing worked. I also tried a different mouse.

yes, building works
yes GUI works, just does not work any interaction

other experiments have shown that simply log the user off and log on again
