Day 6 - The Non-colors: white, black, brown, grey
This “day” has been sitting in my “to publish” list since before today’s platform update was announced. I hadn’t gotten around to publishing it .. and then the new pack and patch were announced, and all I could think was how much better the house would be if I updated it with platforms. So I put this on the back burner, and worked on later builds. So poor Han-Gyeol Park has been uploaded and waiting for his day in the spotlight for quite a while. Story-wise, all he wants is to get into a K-Pop band, or make it big on his own, and to that end, he left home early to try to get to his goals. As per the theme, I was initially going for a grey outfit grouping, but I found the brown a lot easier to find outfits for. He has a definite Asian vibe, and can party hard, but also loves to relax and practice his Wellness skill.

This build is actually based on a shell I made more than a year ago, and never decorated. When I had to do a monochrome build, and I planned to go in an Asian direction, I immediately thought of it, and couldn’t get past it. I didn’t really want to use an old shell, but I was stuck without any other inspiration, and so I sat down to actually decorate it and make it into a haven for Han-Gyeol. I did a bunch of roof editing to add the curves, and replaced all the inside that had been started but never finished. I was amazed at how much I found that matched the black, white, grey theme I was going for, and it was pretty easy to put together. The landscaping, however, gave me fits. I’m not the best at landscaping at the best of times, but the outside of this home needed to be something special, and I definitely struggled with it. Then, as I said above, I found out about the new platform update, and put the whole build on “ice” until it came out, because this build really needed the floor height changes we can now do. Once we had the platforms, I had to half re-do the entire first floor to get the platforms just the way I wanted them. The whole build has been tested, and should work for playing.
