4 sims games and still no bank or banking system?

Why would we really need this? And even if it did have it, who would really take the time to study all that? :?

I like the premise of your idea but I think you're over thinking it a bit. Businesses are a must. Loans would be awesome. Sims mortgaging houses could add interesting gameplay. Stock market career could be kinda cool.

I would like a bank. I would like to get interest on my sims account. It might actually be nice if rarely (like every 20-30 sim weeks) a recession hit. Helping sims work out how to save money would be a welcome challenge.

But sims have no need for credit and debit cards. This is too realistic forr the sims that needs to have some interactions implied rather than shown to maintain its quirkiness. Atms could be decor in banks but sims don't need them. Unless they simply have a pay-in function to ensure you get your interest.

However, none of this matters without real business so lets hope that is done right first. :D

I think it would be cool to have every member of the household to have seprate accounts and parents could give children and teens allowance to save up for college of a car or what ever. :wink:

I've been begging for a banking system for years, way back since TS2. So yes, this is a great idea!

What really gets on my nerves is when a family member moves out, they either take everything with them or nothing. If they've worked since they were a teen and created some wealth for themselves, they should at least have a bit of their starter funds. And if their parents can afford, they should be able to gift them some.

But I love all of your ideas. Maybe not necessarily using the credit card, but that's actually not a bad idea. My sims would probably rack up a lot of debt buying things they can't actually afford.

For me this would just be unnecessary minutiae and I doubt if I'd ever use it. My Sims are more about seeing what mischief they can get into. IRAs and money markets are the last thing they worry about.

Not everything from real life needs to be in the game and this is one of those things. I play the Sims to get away from real life stuff like banking. So it is not needed in my opinion.

The Sims 4 doesn't need a banking system or bank.

I would love for sims to have their own money accounts.

Sometimes I play roommies and eventually they part and go their separate ways. I would like for them to keep the money they earned, or have some gameplay around them dealing with managing their money.

EA could simplify the interface for managing money. Say the household has an automated money system and you can decide in a simple interface how much a percentage each sim contributes to bills. Maybe sims can get annoyed with their roommies if they feel they are unfairly paying too much and the other sim too little.

Perhaps you can even buy things directly from a sims personal account and that object is identified as being owned by the sim who bought it. When you move out everything that they spent their personal funds on moves automatically with them.

I would also like housing loans. It doesn't have to be complicated. all you have to do is go to the bank, borrow the money, and the interest is just added to the bill. Sims can instantly have the money to buy a nice home, but have larger bills, and the potential of not being able to afford it and get into financial trouble. :evil:

Of course you should be able to opt-out if you want to keep the system we are used to.
Make it part of an Open for Business expansion.

That idea would be fine if it wasn't for the fact this is a game made for 12 years olds and up. You give a kid a game all clouded with too many adult things - things that actually give their parent headaches and you lose an entire sector of the starting players for this game. Number one - sims don't get mortgages - they either have the money to buy the house or don't get the house - and the same went for the businesses when we had Open For Business. In fact few kids even enjoyed that ep - it was more something the adults who played the game enjoyed. Sims for adults - much of that may be fun for some - but it is way over the head of many kids - and lets face it - when kids play a game they want to have fun - not do everything an adult in real life has to do and contend with.

There are tons of things I had to learn in school or college in real life to make my life as a real adult less scattered - but I can tell you that when I was 12 or even 14 - I would never have picked a book to read, a movie to see, or definitely a game to play and talk about with my friends based on finances and financial institution. It is akin to watching paint dry.

I write for children - and there are somethings an editor would tell you - is not to focus on the very thing you are wanting in the game in a story or you will lose the readers. Kids just want to play AT being adults not actually be an adult with that kind of responsibility or even thoughts about it put into their heads.

I know even though some of OFB was fun - overall I was annoyed playing with any of the offered Businesses because I didn't seem to get anything else done in the game, just trying to turn that business into a success. That - to me was not fun after about a week. It was a great option for the Seniors in the game when they really had a lot less living to do, as we know Sims 2 didn't give seniors much of a life - so that worked well to have a little bakery or Mom and POP store - but even my eyes would have glassed over after a really short time if all that was clothed in the real world of business and finances.

That sound like the kind of Life Simulation game YOU need and not the sims or typical sims player. But before loans and banking and stock market - you first need a game that needs that stuff - and you also need a game not aimed at half the players being 12 and up.

There is not a thing in this game that any of that would benefit. As no one gets a mortgage or a car loan or anything else that would require it. Sims don't buy any kind of insurance, don't have taxes or tax audits - just nothing about that side of life has ever been a part of the Sims and I cannot see it ever being a good selling point but maybe 1 out of 2500 players who maybe next generations Tax consultants or accountants - might say yes - gotta have that.

No offense, but not a good idea for the audience this game is intended or anything about the way this game is meant to work.

This game does not need a banking system. It's supposed to be an escape from the pressures of every day life. Adding banking would make the game less enjoyable because you would be worried about money all the time. Besides that there are cheats if you need to get money.
