A band/music gamepack would be awesome - here's my idea

So for quite long I have had this idea for a great music themed gamepack I desperately want to see in sims 4.
Key features:
Form a band
You could choose 1-5 sims to play in your band. You could select what instrument each sim would play. You could also have an option for a solo artist. You could also select style and genre.

Practice, go to gigs and earn money
Similar to get to together you could start band practice -meetings and your fellow bandmates would appear and start practice. You could also make your own songs.
Once your band have gained enough skills they could go to preform. You could choose interesting gigs like birthday party, wedding, bar, festival, concert, etc. Your band (or your solo sims) would get paid for gig depending which one you have made. For example performing at a wedding would pay you 200 simoleons and festivals 5000.
Or you could just have casual garageband and do no gigs at all.

Those gigs could just be rabbit holes, but practice would of course be playable.

Gain fame for your band
Your band would have star rating from 0 to 5 stars similar to vets or restaurants. More you do the gigs, more you earn stars and you band would become more popular. More stars would also mean bigger salaries from the gigs and more gig offerings. For example one star band can only go to birthday parties and 4 star band would set up their own concert. 4 star band would also earn more money if they do smaller performances.

This could allow you work as a singer etc. and also play just for fun with some friends.

more
new instruments (drums, bass, pianos, etc.)
this would work fine with get famous
new clothes and build/buy mode objects
teens/young adults/adult/elders could form a new band

What do you think? Would this be dull or fun to see?

    I think it needs more.

I'd like a bands pack to have two roads to fame.
Road1 being getting signed, it's a faster way to the top, and has more money coming in faster, but it means losing creative options, with the game dictating the direction of the band, it's style, and the music played. It also means a faster route back down to being 'last years news'

Road 2 being DIY. Its blood, sweat, and tears. It's a slow climb, and your sims might have to have side jobs to keep it going for a while, but eventually you will start to gain success. The plateau at the top lasts longer, and the decline after is slow, leading to an 'old school influence' status.

Here's what I posted in another thread:

A Battle of the Bands GP or EP
With more instruments, and the ability to form bands, and have music festivals.
Start out as a teenage garage band, go through uni playing in local bars and pubs, either get signed to a label (who dictate a bunch of changes, including changes to your bands lineup), or go DIY, and have to work on the side while you slowly claw your way to fame, but have complete creative control.

Get invited to play at music festivals, your timeslot indicates your level of popularity. If you're in the first slot, you've got a chance at fame, but no one knows your name, if you're the last act, then you've made it to the top.

This could come with it's own world, one that has two recording studios, the plush, and shiny, all inclusive (so long as you've signed away your creative rights) Sellout Studio, and the dark and dingy Den of DIY, where you pay by the hour, but the coffee is free. DIY bands who are at, or nearing the top, can hire the fancy studio, but it costs a lot more than the Den.

The world could also contain a music festival park, a pub to book gigs at, and a fancier music hall, for middling+ bands to have concerts at.

There would also need to be the ability to create your own merch: Tshirts, hoodies, posters, and CDs.

  • I'd be up for it.

I'm just thinking about more (wind) instruments like Sax, Trumpet, Flute. more Strings, like the Harp. and definitely drums.

Mainly what I want Is to create a Jazz band. and a way to create a Band and people can either listen or dance to live music.
Should this happen, I would really want Foxtrotting and Waltzing to be a thing. A Ballroom dancing skill would be phenomenal.

Gigs. Play at Events. when my sim plans to throw a Party, or even a Ball, Music Festival, Concert, the Host could book the band to play as an opening act, or the show stopper, or be the main event.

OMG! 100% yes. I hope EA will see this because with your ideas and ideas from Sambyla this could honestly be one of the best DLC's to The Sims 4
  • @Movotti your ideas are great as well! I like that idea of two roads. I just kind of put them together in my idea. I'm just afraid that if it has too much content it will be an expansion pack. (Which may not be a bad thing, but I think this would be more suitable as a game pack)

@MasonGamer Ooh! I totally forgot wind instruments. Those would of course be new instruments!

I agree on instruments, we need a xylophone for a dance band for one thing.
I would certainly agree on the dancing pastime too. I would love to be able to have my sims partake in ballroom and sequence dancing (I use the romantic slow dance mod, but it isn't the same as getting the big circle around the ballroom floor going) in a sumptuous gilded ballroom or suburban dancehall. A nice dance band or dance organ (Brighton Dome or Blackpool style) would be splendid. Some "sophisticated" hobbies to go with the standard nightclub expansions we have.
