Just on the subject of fireplaces, I would love to have some way of being able to see what area it is affecting. In the real world, fireplaces can even transmit a bit of heat through the wall they back on to.
The Sims lacks the sort of visualisation I'd like (something similar to the way Cities Skylines displays various effects in colour on a greyscale version of your city). Maybe just making the "cozy fire" moodlet a bit more responsive?
