That trait is "Dislike" not "Hate". I mean, it literally says if you become friends with your child, they will bypass the trait. If you want an unhappy family, become enemies with your child.
Also EA already said that things that were okay in the past, are now even stricter.
They wanted to include the WooHoo skill but couldn't do it.
What was considered "teen" then, is not now. Same in the UK. The Sims 2 was 7+ yet The Sims 4 which has less content is 12+.
Game ratings are being stricter, so they have to cut down.
Still the dislike trait was a lot stronger and more powerful than the hate trait. A lot of Sims 3 traits are. Yeah I was bummed about woohoo skill. EA game ratings I agree are stricter, but other companies not so much. If anything they are becoming more lax.
But yes I think the hates children reflects perfectly for all the hate toddler comments I have to read and abusive nicknames people have for them. If that is allowed on forums, why shouldn't it be allowed in game? Especially since forums are a lot stricter than the game anyways, so why is it any different for this trait? It just becomes an oxymoron concept.
But ooh thanks, I'm inspired to make a new club now. The Sims 4 Hates Toddlers club. >:) I'll make them all hate children. It will be perfect.
