Against the Odds Legacy Challenge
Hey guys, I'm starting a new legacy-style challenge for The Sims 4! My inspiration for this challenge (and the first three rules) originally comes from https://www.reddit.com/user/noyuudidnt , who gave their permission for me to flesh out a story line for each generation of the challenge and post it here on the forums!
Essentially the idea of the challenge is to complete aspirations with sims that have all the wrong traits, even ones that make it almost impossible to finish them. Feel free to have as many or as little children as you want each generation (at least 1 per generation) and don't forget to link down below if you decide to document your take on the challenge!
Alright enough shop talk, let's get on with the rules!
Against the Odds Legacy Challenge Rules and Regulations:
1. You must finish the aspiration of the main sim of each generation
2. If a career is included you must reach max level,
3. You cannot use any methods to get rid of negative/detrimental moods (cheats or ingame measures, e.g. if your sim is embarrassed, you
cannot have them hide under bedcovers or anything to reduce their mood and must let it disappear with time.) In the same vein, no gameplay cheats of any kind are allowed! Only cc such as clothing/hair/things that do not affect gameplay unfairly are allowed
4. Each heir and the founder will have their traits already chosen for them and they MUST have these traits
5. The Challenge ends when the 10th generation aspiration has been completed
Gen 1: Freelance Botanist Aspiration
The founder of your legacy has lived their entire life in the comforts of their extremely rich family. After
moving out, they want to make it on their own with just their garden but find it a struggle with their
spoiled personality.
Traits: Outgoing, Lazy, Squeamish
Gen 2: Fabulously Wealthy
While your heir knows that their parent did the best they could, they desire more in life than a simple
house and a garden. They want to be rich, very rich, through any means necessary....
Traits: Slob, Noncommittal, Childish
Gen 3: Master Mixologist Aspiration
This heir grew up in luxury, their parent providing every amenity that they could want, but they also grew
up lacking in parental support and guidance. Their focus turns heavily to....substances and they begin to
grow their knowledge of the bar and what it has to offer.
Traits: Erratic, Mean, Loner
Gen 4: Party Animal Aspiration
Your heir spent their childhood watching their parent bartending and interacting with the crowd that they
attracted. After getting their inheritance this heir wants nothing more but to party each and every
second and show that they're much more fun than their parent even if they don't feel that way on the
inside...
Traits: Gloomy, Hot-Headed, Loner
Gen 5: Super Parent Aspiration (Can also be switched for Successful Lineage if no Parenthood)
This heir spent their childhood being neglected by their parent in favor of the lavish parties that they
threw throughout their childhood. Because of this, your heir wants their child to grow up feeling loved
and commits themself to being the best parent that they can be despite some unfortunate aspects of their
personality.
Traits: Hates Children, Noncommittal, Hot-Headed
Gen 6: Serial Romantic Aspiration
This heir feels pressured to engage with suitors by their parents but just never seems to connect with
anyone. They will keep searching for the perfect significant other until they find them.
Traits: Unflirty/Loner, Hot-Headed, Jealous
Gen 7: Public Enemy
Your heir wants more attention from their parent that is constantly dating and paying no attention to their
kid(s). They decide to take matters into their own hands and cause as much trouble as possible even if it
goes against their true nature.
Traits: Good, Cheerful, Outgoing
Gen 8: Musical Genius
This heir avoids the public eye because of the disastrous life that their parent lived. Most of the town has
been alienated against the legacy family and as a result this generation lies low, even though their traits
show that they'd love to be out in the public socializing most of the time
Traits: Loves Outdoors, Insider/Bro, Outgoing
Gen 9: Computer Whiz Aspiration
This heir takes it upon themselves to keep the legacy family afloat. After a few generations of no careers
and lavish parties, the legacy is near broke. This sim learns computer skills and uses these to replenish
the treasury.
Traits: Active, Loves Outdoors, Creative
Gen 10: Bodybuilder Aspiration
This heir is fully focused on their appearance. Their ancestors have given them everything, a nice house,
money, fame, but they lack the mindset of a true bodybuilder. They're determined to change that, no
matter what it takes.
Traits: Clumsy, Lazy, Glutton
