Alien Legacy Challenge

Sims 4 Alien Legacy Challenge
*Note-You must have the Get To Work expansion pack to complete this challenge.

After years of studying Earth-dwelling Sims, you, an alien from Oglenexa, have decided to risk exposure and travel to Earth. Sighing heavily, you agree to pay the top price on a one-way rocket
ship ride, pocket your leftover 20,000 simoleons, and hope for cheap place to build a house. The rocket ship shudders as you enter Earth's atmosphere and land in a town called Willow Creek. You thank the pilot as you step off the ship. In response, he weakly smiles and says "Just don't get yourself discovered kid. Put on your disguise, and never, never, take it off." You nod curtly to the man (the fact had already been drilled into your head during the flight's preparation), and take your first step on the waving grass that covers the planet. A roar behind you signifies the leaving ship, and with a jolt you realize that you're on your own to find a safe place for you and generations to come to live at...

This legacy challenge (heavily borrowed from Pinstar1161's legacy challenge) involves following a single family through ten generations using a set of self imposed rules. While the main goal is to survive through the generations, there is a catch. Your founder must be an alien, and thus has some restrictions that will affect your gameplay.

Getting Started

Your game begins in Create-A-Sim (CAS), where you must create your founder. Remember, your founder must be an alien, and the only person in the household. This founder can be of either gender, but be aware of the different restrictions on spouses. He/she can have any combination of traits and any aspiration, and can look like anything you want. This step is purposely left open ended, so that you, the player, can have as much fun as possible when creating the foundation for your legacy. Feel free to use any mods or custom content, as long as they don't affect the gameplay; a good rule of thumb is that if the mod or CC gives you an advantage over another player, you can't use it. A bright pink shirt for your sim? Sounds good. A telescope that lets you get abducted easily? Not good.
After you've finished making your sim, place them on a random lot and go to the Manage Worlds screen. Select the neighborhood that you'd like to live on, and locate a 50x50 lot. Then, bulldoze the lot and evict anybody that lives in it. The lot should now cost 10,000 simoleons. If it doesn't, it is not an eligible lot. Return to your sim, select "Move Household" (found in the family section of the phone menu), and move your sim to that lot. This purchase should leave you with exactly 10,000 simoleons.
As a last step in this segment, go to Build/Buy mode and search for the Knight of Octigon Table, which is 8,200 simoleons, and purchase it. This should leave you with 1,800 simoleons to build your house. The Knight will inflate your bills and thus make it harder from the start to create a stable household.

Succession Law

Before you start playing with your sim, you must create a succession law to follow. There are many different combinations to doing this, and the only restriction is that your heir must be related to you by blood. This means no adopted children can take over your legacy. The first component for you to chose is the gender law, and the other half is the heir law.
Gender
Matriarchy-The founder must be female. Only female sims can become heir. If there are no female sims, a male sim can become heir.
Strict Matriarchy-The founder must be female. Only female sims can become heir.
Patriarchy-The founder must be male. Only male sims can become heir. If there are no male sims, a female sim can become heir.
Strict Patriarchy-The founder must be male. Only male sims can become heir.
Equality-Heirs can be of either gender. Both male and female sims are eligible to become heir.
Heir
First Born-The first born sim that follows your gender law is the heir.
Last Born-The last born sim that follows your gender law is the heir.
Living Will-The sims that has the highest relationship with your founder/current heir becomes the next heir.
Merit-The sim with the highest number of aspirations completed during their child and teen years becomes the heir. If there is a tie, the heir is whomever is the youngest.
Strength-The heir is the oldest child by default, but the title can be forcefully taken or reclaimed by whoever wins in a fight between the siblings.
Random-The title odor heir is randomly rolled. It is re-rolled any time there is a new eligible sim.
Exemplar-At the beginning of the challenge, name a trait that your heir must have. If there are no children or multiple children with this trait, the oldest child becomes heir.
Democracy-This law may only be followed by people publicly displaying their Legacy Challenge via Lets Play, blogs, or other forms of communication.
There is an odd scenario that can occur that is to the alien abductions. If your heir or founder is a female, and they married a male sim who was abducted, the male sim could become pregnant. Now, because the baby is only related to the heir or founder through marriage and not blood, they cannot become an heir. If the male sim had been the heir or founder, the baby could become the next heir because they'd be related by blood.

Gameplay Rules

The following rules are some that you must follow to complete the challenge. They make the game more difficult and allows you to play it in a way you might never have before.

1) No cheats/mods/customcontent that gives you an advantage over another player.
2) No restarting after bad events. Part of the fun is living through the bad events and seeing how well your family can survive through them.
3) You may not move in any sims with the exception of your spouse and/or someone to help you bring in the next generation (AKA someone to try for a baby with). This is covered more in the Spouse section of the Gameplay Rules.
4) Your legacy family must remain on the same lot throughout the challenge. You are free to design your own house or use one from the gallery. If you are using one from the gallery, make sure it doesn't have any CC or game rewards that could give you an advantage over another player.
5) The lifespan for your sim must be set on the normal setting, and an anti-aging item may only be used once in a sims lifetime. You may not transfer the anti-aging item from one sim to another.
6) You may not change a sims current aspiration, even if they moved in with one different than what you wanted. The only exception is when your sim completes his aspiration. Then, you may choose one that the sim hasn't completed yet.
7) You may not bring a sim back from the dead. You may plead with the reaper to save him though.
8) You may not move out any sim that has the title of heir. You may move out or marry any other sims in the family (known as spares).
9) You may not use the SimRay to change any object on your lot.
10) During the challenge, your legacy family is the only one you can play in that game. You can move in other families to provide spouses or friends for your legacy family. Look up "#LegacyLoves" on the gallery to find some good sims. Please note that you may not look at their traits or aspirations.
11) Your sim cannot be discovered by non-occult sims that don't have a high relationship with the alien sim in question (must be BFF's and/or Soulmates). If you are discovered, go to the "Mischief" interactions and select "Memory Erase." This will erase their memory of you being an alien, but also makes them lose any relationship status that they held with you.

Spouses

When it comes time for your sim to get married or have a romantic interest, there are a few restrictions and more specific restrictions based on gender.
Base Restrictions
1) Any sim you move in cannot bring in any money. To prevent this, make sure the sim is part of a household with at least one other sim.
2) Any romantic interest you have may not know that you are an alien until the soulmate and/or BFF relationship level is met. If they do find out, see rule 11 under the Gameplay Rules.
If Your Sim is a Female
Female sims may only Woohoo or Try for Baby once the male sim in question has moved into the house and has achieved the soulmate relationship level with your sim. This way, if the male sim gets pregnant, you, the alien, can monitor their pregnancy in any way you'd like.
If Your Sim is a Male
Male sims can Woohoo or Try for Baby at any relationship level. However, you only may Try for Baby when the female sim in question has moved in with you (even if it is only temporary), and has their own room that holds at least a crib, bed (single or double), side table, mirror, and a dresser.

Children

Your sim's children's traits and aspirations must be randomly rolled for based on their parent's traits and aspirations. I've found a great link using Pinstar's website. Here it is: Some great instructions were listed here, but just note that adopted children are not allowed in this challenge. That doesn't necessarily mean you can't have a same-sex couple though! Just make sure to find a baby mommy or daddy, move them in, and Try for a Baby (keeping in mind that the baby mommy/daddy still has to follow rule 11). I recommend getting the "No Jealousy" reward before doing so, otherwise your spouse will get pretty annoyed.

Ghosts

You may move a ghost into your household, but you may not bring it back from the dead. Also, the ghost must once have lived in your legacy family's household as a spare, spouse, or heir.

*This challenge is still a work in progress. I'm currently testing it, and would appreciate it if some other Simmers who play it and find errors or something that needs to be changed would comment and let me know! :)

  • I can’t find the lot I’m supposed to be placing for the challenge, is it ok if I build something else? If not, what do I do/look up?
  • In fact, wouldn’t it be “legal” just to build a house that also costs a total of 8,200?
  • @BloodyRonni I actually made this challenge 4 years ago when I was 14 so I don’t have a clue what lot I was talking about either lol. I had completely forgotten I posted this! But if you still want to do the challenge by all means go ahead! :) Feel free to use whatever lot you want, or go ahead and build your own! 8,200 simoleons sounds about right for a total :)
