Anime Legacy Challenge
The goal of this challenge is to get through ten generations, each with an heir based off a particular trope used in anime. I included main ones for the different generations, but also smaller ones you can use as you like to add more to a particular generation to make it more interesting, use for a spouse or a spare, etc. I got most of these off of TV Tropes, and if you have any you'd like me to add to the list, let me know and I'll try my best to get to it fast!
It's also worth noting that many tropes are usually used for a particular gender (i.e. Magical Girl), but really, use them for whichever gender you want! Want a yandere magical boy? Go for it! This is about having fun, so feel free to tweak anything to your taste.
After making your founder, you can either stick to the original legacy rules listed here, or you can move in where you want, like you would when starting a normal game. Again, this is about having fun, so choose whichever you want.
Generation 1: Genki Girl
The word “genki” translates into energetic or enthusiastic, and there’s never ever been a word that fit you better! You’re basically the energizer bunny on steroids, no coffee required! Every university student envies you, but instead of that, you are faced with the task of harnessing all your energy to start building a legacy! Hopefully you’ll find a spouse who can keep up with you!
Generation 2: Tsundere
What no one tells you about having a large family is that it’s hard. You were with them all the time, which drained all your energy for socialization outside of the family. You had a cold and blunt façade because it was just too hard to come up with anything else. You also had a bit of a temper, which sometimes got you in trouble with people who already weren’t fond of your attitude. You were perfectly fine being completely alone, but then you met them, and they broke down your cold exterior, even if it was just towards them.
Generation 3: Kuudere
Your entire life, you always felt different from everyone else. You could never put your finger on why, but it was a bit like everyone else was in some kind of secret club, and your invitation was lost in the mail. You never fit in with the other kids, since they could also tell you were a bit different, but that was okay. You weren’t very interested in most people, anyway. They were complicated, and you never really understood the emotions of others. You cared far more about your interests, which you excelled in.
Generation 4: Yandere
Sure, you often felt deprived of your parent’s love, but it wouldn’t be that way forever! You have your sights set on your senpai, and one day, you know that you will be the only person they care about. They’ll only have you, and you’ll have them, and it will be perfect! You just need to make sure that no one gets in the way, or competes with you for their affection, no matter what.
Generation 5: Hikikomori
Your town continues to live in fear because of the series of murders and disappearances. There were lots of rumors about the cause, but most people suspected your parent, and feared both you and her as a result. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, right? Throughout your life, only two people ever showed you kindness: your parent, and one person you met at school. You lived to please the two of them, but especially your parent. You never knew what would happen if they were upset with you. You lived in fear of the ridicule of others who felt that you might be like your parent, so you chose to stay inside, alone, safe from everything.
Generation 6: Moe
You were always a quiet, emotional child who tended to get people’s sympathy. Maybe it was the way you stood at the edge of the parent-child dance because your parent would never leave the house, or maybe it was because your baby face made you seem even more innocent than you were. This didn’t change as you got older. Even into adulthood, it seemed like everyone you met wanted to protect and comfort you.
Generation 7: Dandere
You had a pretty good life. Your family was starting to stabilize, and things were going well. You were shy, but it wasn’t due to any kind of trauma or anything. It just took you a bit longer to open up to people, that’s all.
Generation 8: Aloof Dark-Haired Girl
You were always mature for your age. You were kind, but were still quite reserved, and were careful to always seem dignified. You felt it fit your image well. Younger kids of your own gender often flocked to you, viewing you as an older sibling, a position which you took seriously.
Generation 9: Deredere
There were a lot of bad things in the world, so you decided to be one of the good things out there. You were soft and sweet to everyone. You were the one to go out and help a little old lady across the street, or volunteer at the soup kitchen in your free time. Surely if you only put good things out into the world, you’d only get good things back. Right?
Generation 10: Himedere/Oujidere
You’re the 10th heiress of a legacy. Your family has amassed wealth and status. Your family name is up there with the Goths and Landgraabs at this point, so in a way, you’re kind of like royalty. You deserve to be treated well. Your parent would have disliked your entitled attitude, but they always made sure you were happy. Surely, they’d want that to continue, and for that to happen, you wanted the commoners to bow down to you!
Optional Add-on Tropes!
These are the tropes I mentioned earlier to use in addition to, or even instead of, if you want, the ones listed above.
Cherry Blossom Girl
You are associated with sakura trees. This is very open to interpretation, but the following characteristics can be considered. Choose two or three, or more if you want.
Child Genius
You have a talent for something, or even multiple things. Maybe you’re good at everything, or maybe you’re outstanding in one skill, like a musical instrument or chess. Either way, you’ve gone above and beyond what most children can do.
OR
Cute Sports Club Manager
You’ve always loved sports, but you’re not particularly interested in playing them yourself. You’re responsible, so you decide to manage a school’s sport team! Sure, you’re the only one of your gender there, but that doesn’t really matter!
Dojikko
You have some things going for you, but grace is not one of them. Some days, it seems like you can’t walk across a flat surface without finding something to trip over!
Idol Singer (City Living Required)
While this may be just a pipe dream for many young people, you’ve actually achieved it! Make sure to maintain your cute, cheerful, innocent image, or you may just lose your status...
Kanedere
You may or may not have a spouse, but make no mistakes, there’s only one true love in your life: money.
Magical Girl
There’s something threatening your world, and you are the only one who can stop it! With a cry of “Plumbob Prism Power, Make Up!” transform into a magical girl and save everyone!
Mayadere
You thought this person was your enemy, so why do you feel yourself falling in love with them?
Megane
You’re pleasant and smart, and your glasses increase your attractiveness!
Otaku
You have a favorite thing, and you will obsess over it endlessly. You watch/play/read about it for hours on end, and prefer doing it over just about anything else.
And that's it for now! Again, if anyone has anything they want me to add, feel free to ask! If anyone does it, I'd love to hear about your family, and maybe see screenshots! This was my first time coming up with one of these, so I'm sorry if it's bad!
Okay, have fun everyone!
