Ballet/Gymnastics

I'd love to see ballet and martial arts! I have a ballerina Sim and a martial artist Sim,but neither of them can do ballet or martial arts....

It looks like Le sacre du printemps as danced by Diagilev's Ballets russes. Or perhaps its reconstruction by Pierre Lacotte for the Paris Opera Ballet.

The Rite of Spring, composed by Igor Stravinsky & choreographed by Vaslav Nijinsky for the Ballet Russes company. It had its debut in 1913, and was so radical for the time that it literally caused a riot. The rich elite types in the upper stalls were shouting in disgust, the bohemian arty types in the lower area were trying to drown them out by yelling over the top of them, there was so much shouting, cat calling and arguing from the audience that it drowned out the orchestra, Nijinsky eventually had to resort to stomping out the rhythm so the dancers could at least feel some sort of beat through the stage floor, at one point they resorted to turning the house lights on and off to try and calm people down, the police eventually arrived and began making arrests, and two guys decided to agree to a duel the following day.

Stravinsky went on to have great success with the music for Rite of Spring as a solely orchestral piece (no ballet included), and the actual (original Nijinsky version) ballet itself wasn't performed again until the 1980s when work was done to try and reconstruct the original choreography.

It's the Hodson reconstruction performed by the Joffrey Ballet in 1987. :)

Edited: Oops, sorry it is the Paris Opera Ballet version, performed for the 100th anniversary. Silly me linked the wrong video.

Yes, I thought I'd linked the 1987 Joffrey version, this is the Paris Opera one I linked to instead.

They could also include a Museum of Ballet as well, that Sims could visit and learn about some of the more diverse history of Ballet. Like first nations dancers such as Maria Tallchief, Yvonne Choteau, Rosella Hightower, etc, and black dancers such as Janet Collins, Raven Wilkinson, Debra Austin, Arthur Mitchell, and so on, and more modern dancers of colour such as Michaela DePrince, Aesha Ash, Precious Adams, Misty Copeland and Alicia Graf Mack. :)

Ballet and gymnastics are on my wishlist, too. I'd love to have both added to the game!

Ballet is for sure one of my fav's I would love to see a return to TS4. I doubt it will come back, though but hope lasts till the very end. :D I could see it easily incorporated within either a stuff pack like Dancing or even a matching Game Pack "Free Time or Hobbies" would be amazing and I would truly love to see Ballet (for all ages) as a part of that. As a former ballet dancer (semi-professional) sure I would love to see ballet back in the Sims.

Imagine if they could

- teach students (as an active career)
- taking active classes (no rabbit hole) with a typical ballet routine at the barre like battement tendu, relevè, demi, and grand pile
- having a routine without barre with things like pa de bourree, glissade, and arabesque may even a grand jete would be fab.
- having an on-point routine
- own dancing skills separate up to level 5 or 10 even
- practice at home
- have their own lot type (dance studio) for all sorts of dancing (aerobics, dancing, ballet, gymnastics, and yoga)
- do a performance on a stage (Single Dance and a Pas de deux)
- dancewear, mirror (checking their performance) barre, leotards, ballet slippers, on pointe shoes, tutu (training and stage version), dancing decoration trophies, posters, ballet/dance performance posters, etc.

I'm dreaming! My perfect world and this would be pure joy to watch. <3

I'd love to see more dance styles other than ballet too. I'd love to see it as after-school activity as well. I want the dance career back too. I don't want to see them just tied to the barr. I want to see them be able to dance ballet freely.
