Best way to use screenshots in story telling?
I'd like to start writing out stories based on the Sims I have in Sims 4. I don't want to do an LP because I hate the sound of my voice and don't have decent editing software. So I thought about taking notes on my sims as they live out their day and adapting that into their story.
I am working on a strangerVille one in a diary format and don't know if screenshots would be a good idea or not and this is a small excerpt from the rough draft:
Day One:
I arrived late last night. I didn't even bother unpacking, once I was inside I fell asleep. I could not have expected what happened today and the reason behind me keeping this log in the first place. These odd purple plants I saw on my way in, I had assumed they were native to the area but turns out they aren't. I had slept in and when I woke up this morning I decided to unwind by the small pool that came with my house when in the distance I saw someone in military uniform with this strange and scary grin stretched across their face and a wide-eyed look. They stopped to speak to the odd plant. I tried to talk to them but I had a hard time understanding what they were saying. I could make out a few words."Look", "Sky", and"Welcomes" I wish that had been the strangest thing to happen to me, but it wasn't
When I am able to get "Island Living" I may do two more diary formats one belonging to twin sisters who had been separated as children.:
No parents as is normal in stories like this and each is staying with their grandparent(s). The one with her mother's mother and the other with her father's parents. The basic concept is the mermaid is drawn to the land while the "human" is drawn to the sea because that is where her sister is.
I am using something that happens in real life and that is a mixed race couple having twins with one each resembling one parent and don't look related at all. So the "human" sister has pale skin and red hair while her twin has darker skin and darker hair. The one grandparent is very anti Vampire, Mermaid, and Alien. Basically anti anything that isn't human.
When the girls' parents died she and the other grandparents had a custody battle and the one grandmother managed to use the difference in appearance to her advantage. The toddler had light skin and red hair and looked very much like her mother so the grandparent convinced others that they were just stepsisters and not biologically related so they were separated. She looked into mermaid lore and learned how to turn one human and made sure to do that while the red-headed sister was still too young to have a tail but even then she has no bathtub in the house, she isn't allowed to stay over at anyone's house, she's not allowed to go swimming, and she is forbidden from going to the beach just in case it didn't work. She has no idea she has a sister nor that she used to be a mermaid.
Meanwhile, the other sister knows full well she has a sister but not where she is. She and her grandparents have been trying to find her with little to no luck. The grandparents know very well that their other granddaughter most likely knows nothing about them or her sister but they won't let that take hope away to have the family back. They hope they can bring her to Sulani and hope beyond hope that she wasn't turned into a horrible person during their separation. They just need to find a way to set off a chain of events that would allow this to happen, or pray that fate will set off the chain for them. They know how their son's mother-in-law is and want to bring the missing member of their family into a loving and warm community opposed to the coldness their daughter-in-law told them her childhood was like.
With both being diary formats I'm not sure if I should use screenshots or not and if so how. Maybe have the sims take photos with their cameras and use those? The above is still an idea in progress and may or may not change a lot lol.
