Fall | Week 1 - Part III: When Life Gives You Lemons
Weekend Highlights
FRIDAY
Boo! It’s Spooky Day, a day full of tricks, treats, and scare-tastic events! Both Keaton and Dallas woke up excited to later attend the Spooky Season Spectacular which is a music festival event that was headlining DJ Dark Knight. It was going to be a night to remember!
Dallas got to school, put her books in her locker, and heard a loud scream from down the hall. It was Sydney, Dallas’ best friend, back from visiting her dad in Del Sol Valley.
“Ahhhh! You’re here! Just in time!” Dallas yelled.
“You know I can’t miss DJ Dark Knight! I told my dad if I don’t get back in town for the festival, I would fall into a coma from an extreme case of FOMO” replied Sydney.

Dallas was thrilled! Not only was she going to the hottest event of the season, but all of her friends were going to be there and she had the cutest costume planned out to catch the eye of a certain someone. She daydreamed about the festival and how the night would play out.
“Whatcha thinking about?” Sydney teased.
“Nothing!” said Dallas. “I’m just excited for tonight.”
Lucia, who sat behind Dallas, interrupted them “Yeah, I’d hate to break it to you two, but the festival is canceled. DJ Dark Knight posted an apology on Social Bunny three minutes ago. His laptop went missing, so he can’t perform his show.”

“What?!” Dallas whimpered.

Oh no, this really ruined her plans. Dallas was super bummed. She was all excited thinking she was going to have the best night ever, and now none of it was going to happen. She spent the whole first period throwing herself a pity party instead of paying attention.

After the lunch bell rang, everyone shuffled out of class into the halls.
“Dude, did you hear about Knight’s laptop?" Jose asked. “Man, I hope he finds it, but this blows. Literally everyone was going to the Spectacular tonight.”
“%#!*” cursed River. “There goes my plans tonight, what a terrible way to start to the weekend.”

Meanwhile, Sydney, Dallas and Zuri were figuring out new plans down the hall.
“I have an idea!” Zuri cheered. “A party at Dallas and Keaton’s house!”

“Wait, I don’t know if my parents would allow that. It’s so last minute” said Dallas.
“Just ask! Please? I don’t want to be stuck at home trick-or-treating with Iggy” Zuri laughed.
“Okay, I’ll text my mom. Now let’s eat, I’m starving!”

Dallas ran into River as she was walking towards the lunch line.
“Hey, tough morning huh?" River asked. “It’s a shame Knight had to cancel the Spectacular.”
“Right?! I was really looking forward to it too” Dallas said. “Now Zuri wants me to throw a party at my house. You’re invited, of course!” she smiled.
“Cool, I’ll be there” he replied. Great! Now all Dallas has to do is convince her parents.

As the school day ended, Dallas got a text back from Darla. “OK” it read. Dallas cheered and started spreading the word to everyone that there would be a party at her house. "Wear a costume!" she cheered.
Keaton stopped Lucia in the cafeteria on their way out of the school.
“Hey Lucia, I guess there’s a party at my house tonight, you in?” he asked with a wink.
Lucia laughed and replied “Only in your dreams, Loverboy!”
Keaton smirked and knew what that meant – she’ll show up.

When the kids got home, Darla had already decorated the living room with spooky decorations. Wade and Darla were going to attend a charity event for No Sim Left Behind, so the kids got the house to themselves. The kids put their costumes on, put out some punch and spooky cookies (that Darla made before she left), and blasted DJ Dark Knight’s most popular songs. They didn’t have to wait very long for everyone to arrive. Everyone had a good time laughing, mingling, dancing, and pulling a few harmless pranks on one another. The party was a huge success!

Later that night, near the candy bowl, River stopped Dallas to ask her if she was available to go to the Choc’Lit Shoppe tomorrow evening near the Plumbite Pier. Dallas grinned ear to ear and excitedly accepted the invitation!

The next morning was rough for the kids since their night was so eventful. They each slept in past noon!

Later that evening, Keaton joined a MySims Racing gaming tournament. He didn’t win, but he had a lot of fun!

Meanwhile, Dallas went to the Choc’Lit Shoppe with River near the Plumbite Pier. The occasion was not specified as a date, but River was a gentleman and ordered burgers and root beer floats for the two of them – his treat!
“Let’s play Never Have I Ever” suggested Dallas. “Hold up 10 fingers!”

After their bellies were full, they went over to the pier and rode the haunted house ride “Manor of Madness.” Dallas gets scared very easily, but it didn't take her too much convincing to agree to go on it. She sucked it up and walked in with River. She definitely seemed a little jumpy, but that’s all part of the fun!

As the night was coming to a close, the two ventured off to a gazebo on the water. The scenery was so beautiful, especially at night. Dallas was looking out at the water, admiring all of the colors reflecting off of the rides. "Isn't it pretty?" she asked. She turned around to make sure River was looking and —

SUNDAY
Sports Sunday had finally arrived in my game. The Holdens always participate in many of the traditions like wearing matching jerseys, grilling out, playing football, and watching sports TV of course!

Wade and Keaton threw the football in the backyard. Wade was actually quite good back in his day and landed the Quarterback position on his team in high school. "You know I graduated as the Star Player" he told Keaton.

The Holdens spent their evening with some drinks and watching the SimCity Llamas game. The Llamas won 35-20! Woo!
