The background details to your new build are great! :) You have reflected the details well in your builds. It reflects an abandoned vet clinic that a homeless sim has moved into. It is a nice touch that there is a firepit outdoors for the sim to cook on, and a log seat and stump seats to sit and eat a meal. It would be great as a starter home also :)

The second of my newer Cats and Dogs + other packs builds is a bowling alley for Whiskerman's Wharf called the Brindleton Water Bowl (because, y'know, it's a bowling alley that's near the water, and dogs and cats drink out of a water bowl...)

This is only a one-floor build, so I didn't bother taking a whole lot of screenshots of this build either. I used to be a member of a bowling league when I was a kid, and I partially based this build on the bowling alley where we would practice and hold tournaments -- especially the little conference room on the left side of this pic. However, the real place didn't have fountains and trimmed bushes outside, or a bar, or a jukebox and dance floor.

And here's a view from another angle. Since this is Brindleton Bay, I included a couple of food bowls and a litter box, just in case some of the town's residents decided to take their pets bowling. Not that a cat or a dog would be able to pick up a bowling ball anyway.

Brindleton Water Bowl is a great venue for sims to enjoy bowling at! :) The name suits it well! The water fountain and animals sculpture in the side ourdoors area, and the animal shaped bonsai sculptures along the front of the venue looks very nice. Very nice layout of the interior of the venue. It looks great that there are a number of bowling lanes to enjoy bowling on. The bowling patterned floor rugs are a nice touch. Nice bar area for sims to enjoy sitting on the stools or at the table having a drink from the bar. The bowling decor wall shelves look great in the build.
It is a great venue for sims to enjoy visiting in Brindleton Bay! :)

@rosemow Thank you! I'm glad you appreciated the name; I had a tough time thinking that up. (Credit where credit is due, though; part of my inspiration for calling that build the Brindleton Water Bowl came from the Oasis Springs Dust Bowl.)

I don't know if people generally only post original builds in this thread or if it's okay to post renovations too, but my latest Brindleton Bay build was a renovation of Domus Familiaris using Parenthood, Backyard Stuff, Kids Room Stuff and Toddler Stuff (in addition to Cats and Dogs, of course).

I had to move a lot of the bushes and trees out of the way in order to fit the picket fence from Backyard Stuff around the whole lot.

This is the first floor. I turned the little home office room near the upper left into a home office/exercise room. I also added some more cat items here and there because I imagined that one of the Sims living in this house would be a bit of a crazy cat Sim. I also tried to put some more kid items around, but the back hallway was the only place I could fit the puppet theater from Kids Room Stuff, and I put one of the pillow piles from Toddler Stuff across from it so someone could sit on the pillows and watch the puppet show. Also, I redid almost the entire kitchen using items from Parenthood.

This is the kids' room upstairs. I figured that if crazy cat Sims had children, they would probably buy their child a cat-themed bed. It's hard to see in this screenshot, but there's a mirror from Kids Room Stuff in between the toddler bed and the dollhouse, and the butterfly decorations are from Kids Room Stuff as well. I couldn't fit everything in the bedroom, so I put a toddler bookcase and a couple of giant plush kitties in the hallway outside.

It was hard to get a decent shot of the master bedroom, but it's not a particularly complicated furnishing job anyway -- just the bed and a little bit of random decor.

I didn't do much to the bathroom, and in retrospect, I probably should've found another place for that litterbox and replaced the shower with one of the shower-baths from Parenthood.

Also in retrospect, I don't think I need that many plant pots bordering the toddler play space. All in all, though, it looks like a fun backyard, if I do say so myself.

Here's the other side of the backyard. There's not much over here, just a table with some gardening supplies on it for decoration, one of the grills from Toddler Stuff, and one of the outdoor dining tables from Backyard Stuff.

Your renovation of Domus Familiaris looks great! :) It looks very nice how you have added items from the Parenthood, Backyard Stuff, Kids Room Stuff and Toddler Stuff packs to the various rooms and to the outdoors areas. It was great seeing the pictures of how you added the items to the areas.

Looking over your builds and I love them. You're not half bad. I couldn't build on TS2 or TS3 myself, but I find my true talent is more so on TS4! Keep up the builds and I'll check back time to time and see them.

The Domus Familiaris renovation is the newest build I've done so far, so I guess I'll go back to posting screenshots from older builds. This is one I did last April. At the time, I was still trying to improve my building skills, so I started watching speedbuild videos on the YouTube in order to see how it was done. I was watching a lot of Deligracy videos, and she really likes modern architecture, but personally I'm not a huge fan of modern architecture. Even so, I was looking for something to build that wasn't my usual style, and I wanted to work with a small space so that I wouldn't be tempted to build huge rooms full of nothing. So I decided to try building a small but fancy modern home, borrowing some elements of Deligracy's style and combining them with my own style.

Here's a closer view of the top floor, complete with outdoor hot tub, bar, dance floor, DJ booth, and elevated swimming pool with see-through walls. Even though this place is small, the Sims who own it must be loaded with Simoleons if they can afford this. I had already decided to go with a white-with-black-accents color scheme when I started this build, and I used the checkered dance floor and the chess piece lights to bring those colors into a chess theme.

This is the guest bedroom -- or it can be used for a butler, or whatever. It's definitely the most plain room in the house, although I imagine the Sim who'd be staying here likes art, hence the easel.

I also imagine that the Sims who live in this house would have twin spoiled brats toddlers. And that they'd have a very pink-for-girls-and-blue-for-boys kind of sensibility when buying things for their kids. I don't always have my Sims follow gender roles like that, but some of them do. It depends on the characters I have in mind.

This is the upstairs bathroom. I call it "La Toilette en Bleu." Even though only the walls are blue and everything else is black and white.

I call the downstairs bathroom "La Toilette en Noir." It's a lot darker than the rest of the build and a bit fancier than the upstairs bathroom, with a triangle tub and one of the talking toilets from City Living. I was a little paranoid about the talking toilet being able to peek at Sims while they shower, so I added a little one-square wall to block the toilet's view. Not that it matters much, since that nosy talking toilet already watches Sims do their business with its creepy HAL eye.

The master bedroom is also quite dark compared to the rest of the build. However, this is the first room that really shows that I was going for a sort of "modern classic" look by combining modern architecture with the art deco furniture from Vintage Glamour Stuff.

The kitchen is part of a big open-plan living area. Not much to see here, although I like what I did with the marble and wood flooring, if I do say so myself.

Here's a view of the kitchen and the dining area. At this point, my black-and-white color scheme is becoming a bit black-white-and-gold. Yes, it's a little over the top, but I think that over-the-top suits the Sims who'd be living here.

This is the living area and front entrance. In retrospect, I'm not sure why I put a fireplace directly under the pool -- if this was a real house, there'd be nowhere to vent the smoke!

The latest home that you posted is very nice! :) Very nice black and white colour scheme of the home. The roof top level outdoors patio looks great! The sims will enjoy relaxing in the hot tub there and have fun dancing on the black and white chequered dance floor, in the outdoors air. The elevated swimming pool looks great! Very nice furnishing of each of the interior rooms.It was nice reading what you wrote about each of the rooms. The marble and wooden flooring in the open plan kitchen and dining area looks very nice! The black circular floor rug is a nice touch under the dining table,

I guess it's pretty good timing that I recently finished renovating the build I just posted screenshots of -- I call both versions Modern Classic. This renovated Modern Classic is on a bigger lot, so it has space for a fenced-in backyard.

Here are the top two floors, seen from the back. I wanted to add a bit more color, so I changed the patio table umbrellas to bright blue and put a few sparkly-confetti floor decorations -- I forget what pack they're from -- around the dance floor. I also used the glowing floors from Spa Day to give the pool floor a pink-and-blue checkerboard pattern.

I didn't change "La Toilette en Bleu" much; I just moved some furniture around, added a few windows and changed the shower, sink, bathtub and toilet to ones from Spa Day.

I changed the color of the curtains in the upstairs bedrooms and added some lights from Kids Room Stuff and closets from Get Together. When I was done with all that, there wasn't much room left for this bed, end table and table lamp, but I made it work, more or less.

Except for the lights, closet, and dollhouse, most of the furniture in the toddlers' bedroom is the same. I just moved everything around a lot.

I also turned the hallway that connects the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom to the second-floor deck into a playroom. The parents (or butler) can sit on the loveseat and read books from the toddler bookshelf to the youngsters, and when the tots age up, that same loveseat will function as audience seating for puppet shows.

I switched the locations of the study and the master bedroom in the overall floor plan. I also replaced the desk so that I would have a full matching set of art deco Vintage Glamour Stuff furniture, and changed the color of some of the items for a more mahogany-and-dark-red look, suitable for both showing off class and plotting world domination studying.

In the master bedroom, I added one of the large walk-in closets from Get Together, replaced some of the furniture and basically moved everything around.

The layout of the kitchen is mostly the same as it was before, except that the space is narrower because the master bedroom is slightly bigger than the study. I changed the floor, cabinets, counters and sink, and I added a couple of new appliances and the drink tray from Spa Day.

I took the fancy old-fashioned dining table and chairs out of the dining room and added a smaller, more modern dining table, along with chairs from Vintage Glamour Stuff. I also put a different rug under the dining table and used the circular rug to go under one of the buffet tables from Luxury Party Stuff instead. Also, there's a golden robo-vac from Cats and Dogs.

In the living room, I put in some more furniture and decorations, changed the entry rug, and took out the fireplace that made no sense because there was a pool right above it. I also added more windows, which unfortunately means that now the TV is hanging from windows, and I don't think that wall-mounted TVs can do that in real life. Oh well.

I didn't change the outdoor dining area much. I just replaced the table and chairs and put one of those luminous cubes and some useful utensils next to the grill.

The backyard is completely new, since I used a smaller lot before. I made sure to put lots of fun activities in there: a water slide, a full toddler playground for the spoiled brats precious little angels, and monkey bars for when they age up.

Wow. I really like this last build. Looking through all your posts, I can see a lot of growth in your design skills between when you started and now, too. Awesome! (I also love black and white color schemes, usually with red for the touch of color. So clean and elegant! That outdoor dining area looks like a perfect spot to soak up some afternoon breeze.)
