Bringing Back Careers from Previous Games

I've looked into The Sims Wiki's career tracks list and I've seen many potential new careers for The Sims 4 (or 5).

One career I've been thinking about is Animal care from Unleashed. If brought back, it would branch out to animal training and veterinarian careers. Though it is now unlikely to come as The Sims 4 Cats and Dogs has been out for years, so consider it as an idea for The Sims 5.

Other careers I've been thinking about is paranormal career and architecture. If paranormal career returned, I think it would be best if it branched out to paranormal investigator and mystic branches. I think architecture career could be done as construction career with branches of site leader and architect.

Here's the link to the list of career tracks in The Sims series: https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/Career_tracks

Take a look through, share your ideas, or discuss others' ideas.
  • This is most likely not an old job but why not have a masseur career and become a yoga instructor as a career I mean we already have the tables and chairs and the mats you don't have to change but add it as a career for someone who wants them like myself.
  • Yes, it would be very nice if the player could choose who to become a 'server' sim.
  • I want architecture sooo badly! Back when I was a wee lass churning away the precious hours of my youth on Sims 3 (not much has changed, honestly), I had the Ambitions pack. I enjoyed all the new in-person career tracks such as Firefighter, Doctor, Ghost Hunter, etc.--but my poor overworked Windows XP (RIP, brave soul) drew the line at the architect career. So I never really got to experience it to the fullest and building is my absolute favorite thing about Sims.
  • Oh, yes, the same for me, about the career! My save where I remodelled all the buildings in the world went to hell though and the architect corrupt. I am still sad about it. I am trying to repeat the experience in TS4, by playing rotationally and rebuilding the world. But it was really fun playing God.

I am thinking how the architecture would work in The Sims 4... Maybe sim get calls requesting remodeling. Or maybe have sim visit others and offer them remodelling. Or just being able to access build mode while visiting.

I also had an idea about bringing dance career back. Branches being performance dancer and dance instructor.

This is something I'd like too. To see sims in criminal career in cells in the police station when playing with a detective. To see sims in culinary career being bartenders, chefs, and vendors. To see sims in gardening career tending community gardens or being hired as gardeners etc. Plus many new part-time jobs, too. Like cleaners, firefighters, postcarriers etc etc etc.
  • I want an interactive criminal career.

I mean, swiping stuff and selling it at my sketchy pawn shop is fun and all, but I aspire to so much more...
  • I would take just about any new career whether or not it has been in an older version. I'd like more playable arts and crafts, farming, more performing arts, maybe a playable spy career, equestrian and more. Add to that a real estate agent and ways to risk, make or lose large amounts of money or other winnings.

I have a few characters for the playable criminal career. I agree that they should end up in the jail cell. I'd be as interested in some kind of "James Bond". I know the current espionage career is a rabbit hole version of that. If they came out with a pack with a playable international spy adventure, I'd be very interested. You could play as the thief or as the spy.
  • Oh, I so loved the architecture career in TS3! I think it would suit TS4 better though, with the single loaded lots, and more flexible routing.
