I miss the burglars but what I envision are these things
What I'd like to see from past packs
- The Prowling Walk
- The Ability to Let Them Go Once Arrested
- The Fun Music
- Trying to Escape the Police & Have to Fight Them
What I'd Like to See New
- Burglars Being Able to Burgle not just Sims Homes
- Museums
- Labs
- Business Buildings
- Retail Stores
- Burglar Tools
- Lock Pick
- Crow Bar
- Rope
- Code cloner
- Security Systems Being a more Sophisticated than just a Panel on a Wall - Think World Adventure Style Traps but in a Modern Security Context. Of course Homes will have Simpler Security but Think of Evil Lairs or Businesses.
- Camera
- Lasers
- Off Course the Panel on a Wall
- Pressure Sensors on a Floor
- Security Guards and a Security Desk
- Security Patrols
- The Ability to Call the Cops
- The Ability to Fight the Intruder & Make a Citizens Arrest or Worse...
- Being turned into a Frog by a Witch or a Mouse & then her cat goes after them
- Becoming a a Victim of a Vampire or a Werewolf
- Imagine trying to Burgle an Evil Sims House
- A house filled with Ghosts
- The Burglar Actually Having to Have Some Skill - It shouldn't be that easy for them
- Scaling Walls or a Gate
- Picking a Locked Door
- Circumventing an Alarm and other Security Measures
- Needing to Pick Pockets
- Detectives Being able to Solve their Own Burglaries and Make Arrests
- Attorneys Being Able to Sue the Perp After Arrest
- Consequences and Reparations for Being Robbed
So, you want them like an active career? What about the kleptos and the sharing NAP? Might be a good occasion to fine tune them and integrate them with the burglary career but make them les annoying or at least giving us the possibility to fight back or secure the lots. I had sims literally strip a bar while my sim was there having a drink, they took the chairs and everything.
I also think it would be a grand idea to fine tune the Kleptomania trait along with creating a fun, active Burglar career. Kleptomaniacs only tend to steal small objects anyway so having them steal bunches of large things, in public, so brazenly doesn't make sense. They also are folks with a mental issue and not bad people per se irl so changing the perimeters for what they nab in contrast to what a willful thief might steal would probably be a good thing. It still can be amusing which is what it is meant to be, but far less ahem expensive and annoying.
Plus I like the idea of making a professional thief and having them plan heists and circumventing securities.
