Businesses and Hobbies: Fashion Industry

Thanks to Businesses and Hobbies, a game-play scenario that I have been experimenting with has become a lot more immersive.

I have been playing with the interplay of Style Influencer/Fashion Photographers/Fashion models careers. We don’t officially have fashion model careers, but I have been working around that. I have had fun with my test run of the pack.

Phase 1:

I had my Fashion Photographer sim set up a studio in his home. He had no employees. His opening day was to scout for fashion models. I do have a fashion model career mod and their first at home task is to upload pictures of themselves. So I worked this into my game play. I set the fashion model career as a required customer trait, so they all showed up. My price was too high for a couple of them, so they Noped-out.

I did have two of them stay, so we found some clothing for them to model.

That should be enough pictures for now. I gifted them shots to take home.

Rotating over to my model’s home, she had the photos in her inventory.

She sent them out to satisfy her first task from the modeling agency. Oh, and she gets to keep the clothes.

I wasn’t happy with the home my fashion photographer sim was living in, so I found this photo studio on the gallery and I converted it to be a business and a home. Normally I would have him work his way to this home, but this was a test.

Phase 2:

Now that I have scouted out two models, I hired them to be models for my studio. This benefit from Businesses and Hobbies means I don’t even need a Fashion model career mod, however, I do like playing from their point of view, so the mod helps a lot with that.

Even though my fashion photographer has his studio business, he still has his freelancer career. His studio just supports his career gigs and adds a lot more immersion.

My customers this day are fashion models and fashion influencers.

The fashion models pay to have their pictures taken, use the video station object, try on fashions, and network with Style Influencers and other models. They could also find themselves hired by the photographer. I think I might make it a habit of having two models and rotating in a third.

My influencers get to see their work on models and get the photographs of them. They also network with models and other Influencers.

Phase 3:

Involves Fashion Photographer gigs that require a level 5 photography skill. These are the gigs that pays the bills because the studio itself doesn’t pay as much in comparison. These gigs actually gets a Style Influencer sim to participate in the game play. Olivia Banks is one of my sims that is also a style influencer. She owns a retail fashion boutique. My photographer has her as a client and she is visiting to approve the work.

It’s nice having a client in which you can actually interact. I also gave Olivia a key. She drops by whenever she likes.

One of the fashion models took this moment to ask if can she move in with him since they had become such good friends.

Such horrible timing, he had to say no—such lack of professionalism.

Taking selfies with the client are part of the task list for some reason.

Kaching times 8! 8000 simoleons for this gig.

I felt like taking the client and models out for a night on the town instead of letting Olivia walk away.

But, I rotated over to her business to look around since I haven’t been there in a while. And then we went back to the photographer’s studio to make use of his models.

She can do all the usual stylist activities. I should add some mannequins and style boards to the studio.

We can decorate her shop with relevant media.

In the past I had a meeting in her upstairs office with the model and the photographer. This makes all the more sense now.

So there, the test run was really successful. I like that I can rotate around to all three career types and play them interactively.🙂
