CAS CC Sorting Concept: Trash and Favorites Section - a solution for sorting bad CC
Sims 4 CAS Sorting Change Concept: Trash and Favorites Section
CC is really hard to sort, and when one of the CC files is outdated or just not really high qualtity, its a nightmare to find which one it is the bad CC. This is why I propose a solution to this: The Trash and Favorites sections.
#1) FAVORITES SECTION
By selecting a CAS option, you have the option to “favorite” the mesh, which makes it permanently go to the top of the CAS section unless unfavorited. This would allow people who have favorite hairstyles and clothes to quickly access them without having to scroll too much.
#2) TRASH SECTION
The trash section is more complex. It can only be enabled with a cheat code (enableTrashCC true) and only works for CC, not base game or DLC content. Essentially, when selecting a CAS swatch, you have the option to “Trash” it, which removes the CC from your CAS inventory and instead moves the file to a separate folder in the files, called the “trash” folder.
This folder both allows for the salvaging of CC in case of a misclick, as well as a way to sort good and bad CC, as you can use the trash folder to select CC and single them out. For example, if you know a hair CC file isn’t in the hair folder but you dont know where it is, you can have it moved to the trash folder and find it there. Another example is you know one hair CC is toggled as “masculine” when it should be feminine, you can instead just move it to the trash folder to find it and change it that way.
The Trash Folder can be emptied either manually (clearing out the folder in the game files) or through the game settings (Clear Trash Folder)
The Trash folder and favorites section would make the game much more easy to manage for people with large CC folders like me, or just people who have bought all of the DLC to the point where it gets cluttered.
