I do the hair, make-up, and accessories for each category before I actually dress them. I change what I want once they're dressed. When doing make-up, for example, I do the eyeshadow for every category then go on to the eyeliner, etc. Maybe that will help a bit.
I do as well but it's still an inconvenience to have to do each category, especially when certain effects are the exact same regardless of wardrobe. I just wish the devs would incorporate this as an option. Really hope it's something we'll see in the next anticipated Sims 5.
