Welcome to the Casting call for The Hourglass Legacy: The Lost Years. Okay first a quick note, This is part of an ongoing simlit series The Hourglass Legacy. The main story will be focusing on Jason Blake, but we will be looking in a bit on other characters as well from previous stories, including (but not limited to) Archer Kendall, Enid Crowley, and the one and only Tony "Meatball" Coreleonsi. I need just about any sort of character you can think of. Love Interests. Criminals. Law Enforcement. Friends. Crooked Businessmen/Politicians. For the time being you guys can submit as many as you want. I reserve the right to make any creative changes to submitted sims, to best serve the narrative.

Meet Jason Blake. When he was a kid, Jason was diagnosed with Dissociative identity disorder (DID), a mental disorder that is characterized by the maintenance of at least two distinct personalities states. Jason himself is an artist, relatively shy, except when he is performing his music. His split opposite, is referred to as Rooster, an aggressive, brash, yet cunning operator, with a tongue of gold. A week before leaving for college, Jason begins experiencing mysterious nightmares, seemingly warning him of a foreboding future. Afraid he is being manipulated somehow, Jason takes off for the road, in search for answers. To find them, Jason and Rooster must reconcile, and find a way to work together, to keep their nightmares, from becoming reality.
I have a Corrupt Politician as well as his niece who could fill the role of Friend/Love Interest...
Bradford Latham: Bradford Latham grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth from a long line of Lathams before him that went into politics for the betterment of themselves at the expense of the people (he favors the rich paying no taxes, the poor paying 90% of their earnings as taxes, and wants to abolish things that sims find enjoyable (music, entertainment, recreational juices & bubbles). The latest in the long line of the Latham Political Dynasty, Bradford Latham is a powerful politician who keeps having wives disappear due to mysterious circumstances. Though Bradford talks about being the light on the beacon of hope, there are rumblings of his ties to organized crime...
In addition to being a politician, Bradford is the leader of an organized crime ring under the alias of Golden Ceasar. As Golden Ceasar (who is in gold skin and a prostetic mask), some of Bradford's crimes include abduction of people to hunt as sport in the forest, selling sims into slavery, stealing valuable artifacts, and if rumors are to be believed even a genetics laboratory to create mutant super soldiers. Many in Golden Ceasar's outfit wonder if their boss is a genius, insane, or both. No answers have been revealed to these mooks due to them getting killed as soon as they are brave enough to even apporach their boss over this question.
Casandra Jorgensen: At the age of 10, Casandra Jorgensen came home from school to see her father's corpse in the living room appearing to have been killed Blood Eagle style. With her mother dead from when she was an infant and her father dead at 10, Casandra was forced to move in with the only living family she had, her Uncle Bradford. Once under Bradfor's guardianship, Casandra was shipped off to many different boarding schools & private schools just so she wasn't around her mean uncle. Now college age, Casandra lives on her own in the slums surviving thanks to her hacking abilities. When not hacking, she is a bit of a party girl going to Goth & Metal night clubs enjoying the nightlife her uncle wishes to get rid of. She has also used some downtime to try to investigate who killed her father since the police didn't seem to care to solve that gruesome mystery. Casandra believes that an insane murderer murdered her father though she isn't sure whether it is Golden Ceasar, Shinobi Tokugawa, or some other criminal that seems more out of a comic book than in real life.
The both can be found part of this household here.
(I may have gone a bit deeper into @VanPelt81’s idea of a crime lord and have grown off of it.)
The matriarch of the family, Darlene Rose, is a therapist. She sees many people on her couch in her office, trying to offer them mental health care. Often they’re nothing special; father issues, bullied in childhood, trying to get over an addiction.
When her husband died (and she still wears the wedding band), she felt that the house was just a bit too loney, so she filed for adoption, and she received two children, a boy and girl of unknown origin. Darlene was a doting mother, trying to fulfil their every need. She was home when they were, she drove them to school everyday, and she advised them and tried to guide them to become good adults.
But otherwise, she was incredibly predictable. Lara slipped out at night a few times to party because she knew that her mom would sleep like a rock and she trusted her ‘perfect children’. Darlene’s clothing is as exciting as she is, wearing relaxed suit jackets with every outfit, sticking to muted colors. If a person is a song, Darlene is a yawn.
Lara heard the knock on her apartment door as she tried to quietly close the bedroom door, hoping the sudden noise hadn’t undone the hard work she had just pulled off. Quietly she tiptoed around the few toys and opened the door, shielding the view of her apartment with her body.
“Oh, Robin! What’re you doing here?” she asked.
“I just got off my shift, I’m beat! You still have some juice around, right? I can order food if you haven’t eaten yet,” he leaned against the doorframe. “I know I’ve been gone for a while, but I want to catch up. You’re always so hurried and preoccupied when we catch lunch, I thought if I came over and saw you in person where you weren’t in a hurry we could spend some time together,”
“No, I’m sorry, I have an early shift tomorrow,” Lara tried to edge the door shut.
“I’ll be gone in an hour, I promise!” Robin urged. “And it’s 8:30, how early do you go to bed?” He pushed his way into the apartment, tripping on a ball and landing on the floor. “What the-”
“Sshhh!” Lara hushed. Too late, she saw her daughter standing in the doorway of the little bedroom.
Robin looked at the child incredulously. “That’s- that’s a baby. That’s a baby Lara,” he looked to Lara. “Please tell me you’re babysitting.”
“That would certainly be the more reasonable way of explaining this, wouldn’t it?” she bit her lip.
“When did you have a baby?!” he hollered, bolting up from the floor. “Why didn’t you tell me? Who’s baby is it? Does mom know?”
“Oh sure, let me tell mom that I’ve had a baby that’s now two years old. She probably still thinks that I’m a virgin, Robin! The mom that would psychoanalyze me into the ground until I’ve been boiled down to a set of statistics? How was I supposed to tell her that her perfect daughter wasn’t perfect?”
“But you’re 21! How are you going to support a child? With the cost of things skyrocketing, and childcare is being rolled back-”
“I’ve been taking up extra shifts at the restaurant,” Lara tried to cover. Her daughter just looked up at the two of them with her round eyes, curious.
“You work as a waitress! You can’t even support yourself, you can’t have a kid. You know how they tear apart people’s lives for not caring for a kid right.”
“I drop her off at one of the neighbor ladies during the day. Samantha’s perfectly safe, I swear.” Lara countered.
“Lara, this isn’t right,” he groaned, looking at his niece. “If they find out that you aren’t suitable to be a mother, you could never see her again…”
“Good thing I have a brother in law enforcement. That won’t happen.” Lara looked at Robin. “You can’t tell anyone. I’ve been doing fine so far. No accidents, she’s eating fine, everything’s going fine. You don’t need to tell anyone.”

Lara likes to live a colorful life, if somewhat thrifted. Trying to raise her daughter right while being a single mom, she still has to go to work as a waitress and try to put food on the table. She’s had to keep the secret of her child, else someone report her for being an unfit mother and the authorities take her child away. Samantha could end up with a family in Sunset Valley!
Samantha’s father isn’t in the picture. Honestly, she doesn't remember who it is. Having seen that a family is hard to do right if you’re single, she’d love to find a good guy to settle down with, but she’s not wise enough to not make mistakes.
I kinda thought that Lara could be the sidekick of @VanPelt81’s Bradford Latham, and here’s kinda how I thought she could get in with him. If you don’t want any of this, or if you want just parts, that’s up to you. It goes as follows:
It’s a sunday, the restaurant closed early, she and Samantha are sitting on the couch watching a kid’s movie. Lara is smiling, trying to relax. Her encounter with Robin made her nervous. If he could just drop by and find with Samantha, anyone could drop by and discover them. Was she safe here? Who would report her if they knew? Who knew?
The characters in the movie do something funny and Samantha laughs, making Lara smile.
There’s a pounding on her apartment door, making her jump. She whips around, seeing it jump as it gets beat on again.
“Lara Rose, we know you’re in there. We have a warrant to search the premises. Allow us entry or have the door beat down.” a man’s voice came from the other side of the door.
With shaking legs, Lara stands up from the couch, motioning for Samantha to hide under it. She’s done this a few times, and does it silently.
Lara walks to the door, opening it. “What can I help you with, officer?” she asked as innocently as she could.
“Please step aside, miss.” he pushes her aside, and four other men in tactical gear step through her door, followed by an impeccably dressed man.
“I don’t know what you think you’ll find, but this isn’t a good time. I’m just about to leave,” Lara lied.
“You have a children’s show on the tv,” the man observed, walking further into the main room.
“I like it’s simplicity. It makes me laugh, so sue me,” Lara bit back.
“We may,” the man smiled with half of his face. The other men were rummaging through her cabinets, going into her bedroom and looking in the little bedroom that is Samantha’s.
“Sir,” the agent who had opened the door indicated.
“Do you have a child, Miss Rose?” The well dressed man asked.
“No,” she said. “I babysit my little cousin so often I have a place for her set up. As you can see, it’s not much.”
“Indeed,” he watched her face, and try as she might, she couldn’t resist looking at the couch where Samantha was hiding. He smirked again, and walked over to the couch, stuck his hand under it, and pulled out a giggling child. “Are you sure you don’t have a child?”
“I’ve been a good mother-” Lara rushed to hold her child, but an agent held her back. “I’ve been a good mother, you have no reason to take her from me!”
“I don’t? As head of the child safety department, it is up to me to make sure all children are looked after properly. In this dingy, dangerous part of town, children really aren’t a good idea. And the sharp edges on the furniture, that’s just a cracked skull waiting to happen,” he set Samantha on his hip.
“No! Give her back, she’s mine!”
“You thought she was yours, but I’m sure she’s also someone else’s. Who else does she belong to? Where’s her father? I’m sure he’d be a better parent than you,” the man taunted her, trying to get a reaction.
“NO!” Lara burst out a wave of power, making the agents fall away from her as if they’d been pushed. She was shaking with anger and fear. “You can’t have her!” She felt her legs start to go weak, and she crumpled to her knees.
“I’d like to see you do that again,” the man raised an eyebrow. It was as he expected, she had unnatural powers. “Perhaps, when I see that again, you can see your daughter again.”
He handed Samantha over to one of the recovered agents as Lara panted on her knees, pale. The man grabbed her by one of her pigtails, making her wince. He pulled her close to his face, observing hers. “You’ll do nicely, and you better perform nicely too. Otherwise, your child could go further than Sunset Valley.”
AND SCENE!
Lara has a few ‘costumes’ in her party attire. She has a waitress outfit, and a Sorceress outfit, the Golden Rose of Bradford Latham. In formal, the little red dress is in case you want her to play seductress for Lathman to get info, or be eye candy to escort an important guest.

I thought that Robin, Lara’s brother, could try and figure out where his sister went, and why she’s working with a mob boss, and how to get her out of his clasp.
If you want to change these characters, obviously, please do. I had a ton of fun making them though. It's been a while since I made sims for fun.
I am going to keep this Casting Call open for a week, as I work on some builds for the story. Feel free to add sims in the meantime. If you haven't read any of The Hourglass Legacy, you can check it out here You won't however really need to read the whole story to follow the current saga, as I am going to be doing something a bit different.
