Usually the complaint with Sims 4 traits is that they're not strong enough to make a difference. That's the exact opposite for the Jealous trait! While I enjoy the trait overall, it's rather annoying for my Sim to be constantly tense because he can not immediately see his partner. It would make sense if the partner was not on the active lot, but when the jealous Sim is upstairs and his partner is downstairs, he should not be worried about where she is!It would be great if the Jealous trait could be toned down just a tad, specifically: when the jealous Sim and his/her partner are on the same active lot, he/she should not get the Tense moodlet.

Well knowing Sims logic, it's either too much or not at all. As much as I too consider the Jealous trait to be quite overkill (borderline obsessive), it's always best to be careful what one wishes for, bc it can also very well be obliterated and then the trait becomes menial instead.

They do indeed take jealousy to a whole other level. I don't mind my sim getting tense when their spouse is at work (because what if he's not at work? What if he is into the secretary with the long legs?!), but when at home, they should be chill instead of worried. Maybe if a female friend came to visit with both on the lot, then they could be jealous but not without any reason to it.

It would be good for making stalkers.

I love this trait. It's one of the few (unflirty is great too) that actually does something. I wish they would change the others to be more impactful.

we don't want it nerfed..it just it's not jealousy so much but possessive behaviour about one's partner. Jealous would be if your partner flirted with someone of your gender (with you there) or jealousy could arise if the partner is "home late from work" when he normally hasn't been (might be cheating).

I love this trait AS IS. I hope they never change it. I want more traits with this extreme effect. The others barely do a thing besides Childish works well too.

@alan650111 our problem is that the trait is more obsessive-relationship... then actually jealous.

Yeah I agree it should have been called "Obsessively Jealous" because of how strong it is.

I don't like that it only covers romantic jealousy
How come it can't cover sibling Jealousy, Like if Parents socialize or are more friendly to their first born than their second born.

I laughed at Akira for being jealous when his wife was sleeping right next to him. Also gave him carefree as soon as I could.

It sort of already has it, in a way: Akira was jealous of his wife interacting with their children. But jealousy between siblings would be very interesting too.

But yeah, I think this trait should be turned down a notch.I like a lot of the suggestions here- I think the traits could use a little more complexity!

This is one of the few traits that actually works I never want my obsessive-jealous Sims to change. I like having some Sims be over the top toning it down would just make the jealous trait boring and unnoticeable like every other trait.

If anything it should be renamed but not changed.

yes, that one is too extreme as I found out doing the berry challenge. My sim was getting hit with the jealous negative even when her husband was in the next room watching tv. And of course she always had that negative every day at work. Thankfully she was in an active career so the mood hit didn't hurt performance.
